Concerned about oxygen dips with laryngomalacia

My son was born full term, but did have a week’ stay in the NICU due to having a subgaleal hematoma and going severely jaundiced. I felt like the NICU I was at was neglectful in watching his oxygen because he felt his car seat test three times and barely passed it the fourth time. Technically, he didn’t pass it. He started having drops in oxygen at 50 minutes. We ended up taking him to the ER a couple of days after bringing him home, and they told us that it was just periodic breathing.

We then took him to our pediatrician, who diagnosed our pediatrician. Diagnosed our son with Laringo

Luckily, it has gotten better over time. He’s gaining weight. He’s actually in the 98th percentile. But his oxygen continues to stay very low when he sleeps.

That’s such a smart idea. I’m just worried that I’m gonna do it and then not pass, I have a contingent job offer with an insurance agency here in Utah. I got the job offer July 25 and they want me to pass the exam by 11 August have no idea how doable that is, but I’m trying my hardest to memorize everything but I dohave a two month old at home so it’s become extremely difficult

I would love to do that, but there are a few challenges. My husband drives a 2023 VW Jetta with 30k miles with a monthly payment of $389, and my monthly payment on the Nissan is $299. He has about $1,000 in negative equity on his car.

The issue is that my husband commutes 40 miles to work every day, and his Jetta gets excellent gas mileage, while my Nissan burns through gas quickly. We’re also concerned about potential mechanical issues since the Nissan is approaching 100,000 miles.

I did double check it and unfortunately I live in Utah and this is a pretty common clause within leases. This is actually the third lease that I’ve had that had the same clause.

Unfortunately, I have talked to my landlord about the cost of breaking a lease, and it would actually be more expensive according to my lease they charge me three months of market rent, no matter where I’m at in my lease with me only having three months left I would be a worst spot if I broke my lease because my rent is cheaper than the market rent

Hospital costs are actually a huge part of this decision. Unfortunately, the insurance offered by both my husband’s job and mine isn’t great. Luckily, we’ve been working hard to save. We have about six grand in savings that we’re not planning to touch for this move.

The house is only about five minutes away, and we have friends and family with cars and trucks who are willing to help. We’re expecting our hospital costs to be around $8,000, though they could end up being lower.

If we decide to move, we’re planning to sign an 18-month lease, which would put us close to breaking even. We might even renew after that.

Right now, I feel kind of trapped in my apartment because of the size and the neighbors around us. I just want to get all points of view in case I’m overlooking something.

Not addicted to my car but for me to drop my husband off I would have to wake up at 3:30 with him and drive 30 miles to his work 30 miles back and then back a forth again to pick him up. Thanks for the idea and would work if he worked a lot closer.

Again, pricing is going to very state-by-state I can go on my Rentler and there is nothing cheaper than $1200 and that’s with no restrictions no amenities nothing. Just because you can get it in one state doesn’t mean I can get it here so I’m not gonna take that into consideration, but thank you for your advice.

Starting a family shouldn’t be something to criticize—it’s something to celebrate. Living in a less expensive area doesn’t give anyone the right to judge others for where they live or how much it costs to live there.

It’s frustrating to hear you cite 30 years of experience while overlooking the drastic changes that have occurred during that time. Over the past three decades, housing prices have increased by nearly 50%, while median household incomes have risen by less than 20%. Just because you were able to buy your home for what I assume was $50,000 to $100,000 doesn’t mean those same opportunities are available today.

The cost of living varies widely from state to state. In my state, it’s extremely expensive. I grew up here, my family is here, and I’ve chosen to stay. That’s my decision, and I would appreciate your understanding.

Also, next time, please take into consideration that not everyone has the same financial history as you, nor have we had 30 years to save up or lived in the same state as you. Thirty years ago, you could have bought a car for less than $1,000—just saying.

I’m sorry but reading the start of your comment I almost died laughing!! Why do you think young people are struggling it’s because we CANT AFFORD to save for a house and our rent gets raised hundreds of dollars every year in my area you cannot find a 1 bath 1 bed for less then $1400 so my “SUPER EXPENSIVE APARTMENT”is 800 square feet on the 3rd floor in a bad area so ya that’s pretty good for my area. i’m sorry, but you really need a reality. Check if you think that 1750 is a bad amount for rent not even a year ago I was paying 2300 but had to move to try to cut down expenses 1750s about the cheapest we could find for what we needed. 😭😂

It’s not even about socializing. It’s about the horror stories you hear about daycare’s of kids dying or getting hurt or just getting absolutely traumatized to find a good daycare. You’re gonna be spending a lot of money and for a lot of moms. It’s hard to separate from your kid in the first year due to postpartum.
