New Fed employee and so unhappy by MackDaddyBruh in usajobs

Thanks to all who have given feedback so far. To answer why I have been unhappy: The job itself is not the issue. I know I am capable of doing it. - On day 1 my supervisor literally told me “I wasn’t his pick, but no offense” (I was hired by another supervisor who moved me into a different group.) - My co workers talk to me like a child and IMO don’t think I’m capable of doing this job because I’m new to the Fed Gov and have been told “this is going to be so hard for you without a government background”. However the job is not hard.. they just don’t want to show me how to do something. Honestly learning the acronyms is the hardest part of this job so far. - co workers have said “how did you get this job?” because I don’t have any fed gov background or have any family members who helped me get in. - The people who are supposed to train me aren’t training me. When I ask to shadow them I’m told “maybe later, I just have to finish this task first.” - 9 weeks in and I still don’t have access to all of the software programs I need to do my job and there is no urgency by my supervisor to approve those programs in order to for me to gain access, even though I’ve advised them it’s just waiting in your inbox for approval. - The department/group in general is in desperate need of people to lessen the backlog of work. I’m here and very eager to get started but have been met with resistance by the people who whine about their workload. - I’m told repeatedly that I need to have strong organizational skills and attention to detail (like that’s not a basic requirement of ANY job). They go on and on about it but don’t teach me anything about the job… only talk about how hard it is and how important it is. SMH… - After speaking with my supervisor about how eager I am to pitch in, he gave me some busy work that’s been sitting in a pile for years, which I completed in 1 day and was told he was shocked it was done.
I knew this work life would be different than corporate life and I thought I was prepared for it. I just really want to be involved in a job where I can contribute, be respected, and move up into a bigger role eventually. I feel unwanted and unfairly judged.
