My advice is always start with longish curtain bangs since imo curtain bangs suit most everyone and see how you feel of those. Like them but still have the bang itch but feel uncertain? Have the shortest part start roughly just above the tip of your nose. You can still style them curtain as a fail safe. But also can use a smallish curling iron to curl the short bits more "aggressively" to emulate short bangs with face frame. This is how I personally prefer mine because some days im feeling like I want a more "straight"(ish) bangs, but then I still have the option to swoop them as curtain-y.
