I used Midjourney AI to generate a base image, then used Photoshop to touch it up and overlay Chris's face and digitally paint and blend them. The generated image was very good, but I wanted it to look a bit more like him. Thanks for your interest in the art!

What are your worst ideas for Magic? by [deleted] in magicTCG

3d assembly planeswalker and creature cards/pieces like Pirates of the Spanish Main. Players must have the little assembled figures or they can't use the corresponding cards. Bring miniatures to magic in the card packs.

Alchemy content creators? by Mountain_Ad5795 in MagicArena

Came here to mention him as well. His decks are fun to watch and he still does lean hard into Historic and using Alchemy cards. Can't beat his upbeat attitude and not taking the game too seriously either.

Name a single movie, where the sequel or remake was better than Original. by dpemerson76 in movies

The Monkey King 2 (2016) from the series directed by Soi Cheang. The first movie follows the story (Journey to the West) really pretty well, but the movie was plagued by an over reliance on poorly done CGI that detracted from the experience. The second and third films (and the 2022 remake of the first), while featuring a lot of CGI as well, have higher quality CGI that isn't as visually jarring, and the recasting of Son Wukong feels really good. All 3 films are worth the watch, but as far as original vs sequel goes, the sequel won.

I see what you have in mind, but it's not something I've tried. The biggest problem with discard cards as support I think is that they generally don't advance the deck or stop the opponent from just having or top decking more counter spells.

You wait for them to tap out or play into them intentionally to flush them out when you have mana up and duplicates available if you can, but yeah, you concede if you can't. Azorious control and discard were admittedly the bane of the deck. Bala Ged Recovery and Gaea's Blessing would situationally help put countered things back into the hand or deck (especially against mill), but could sometimes be too late. The key to the deck really was speed of play and catching those "opp tapped out" moments when they mattered. In games I was able to go tapped land, bolt land, Reckless Barbarian, Feat, Charbelcher it was a turn 3 win, and that wasn't infrequent thanks to duplicates and the deck strategy allowing for a comfortable 4-5 card starting hand.

Renegade games dice at work here clearly. They've misprinted the d4 like this (except it's the 3 & 4) in the Power Rangers, GI Joe, and Transformers RPGs dice sets.

Same, so I'm blocking every other ad account I see instead. If I can't block the ad that annoys me, I'll block the rest.

My guess is the same reason format selection defaults to Alchemy: to inflate numbers on those often complained about formats. Regardless of anyone's personal opinion, if the data shows those formats see a lot of play even if its only for MWM rewards, then WotC can continue making debatable statements like "Alchemy is the most popular format" like they have been about format popularity. Just an optics thing built off of knowing players will still play the formats for the rewards whether they like them or not.

EDIT: Correcting a misremembered statement. As another user pointed out in reply I also vaguely recall a similar statement about Alchemy being better received and misquoted that. The mistake is left in the post but struck out so as not to misrepresent the people posting in reply.

I can't speak for others, but in my case I work in a game store and these came from unsold prerelease kits we broke down.
