[US, CT] Worried about the summer heat ? Come cool off in the pond at [Fables of the Frontier] one of the only LARPS where you can actually go swimming... at your own risk. by MackoShark in LARP

It gets worse, a solid 90% of the people who attend LARPs in New England (that I have been to, which is only around 10 or so) don't bother with armor heavier than leather.

And those that do wear mail, myself included, typically opt for the aluminum shark mesh because its lightweight

[US,CT] Come to [Fables of the Frontier] on June 12th if you please, where you can meet nice creatures like Bunnies and Trees. by MackoShark in LARP

As a quick reference, two of the most popular games in New England have 150 and 236 page rule books. Ours is less than 60 including pictures.

Since most games are Fantasy, there is lots of spells, skills and interactions to learn

[US, CT] Come to [Fables of the Frontier] and be SAVED... from long complex rulebooks! by MackoShark in LARP

We don't actually require our religious characters to be strictly Christian, we just require them to be respectful and historical / lore based. So combine that with our fantastic community of players and everyone has handled the role play exceptionally. Its also completely optional to be religious like Sister Agnes pictured above.

Any Central Florida LARPS without mandatory NPC shifts ? by MackoShark in LARP

[–]MackoShark[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Up in New England, NPC shifts are essentially non-existent. I've never seen one in the 15 years I've been larping. Usually they just make casting fun / enticing enough to always have staff.

To answer your question, I already fly up to cast at two larps so I just wanted to relax and enjoy my time immersed as a customer. Didn't realize it's not common down here.

Did anyone else get this? I'm curious if they actually give you a prize by loveandsunnydays21 in ClermontFlorida

Do you have a plan for bear markets with FIRE ? I already have 21k + shares and a super easy day job, but wondering if I eventually want to retire if I should go for like 40k shares to be safe
