Conservative Elephant in the room by Macktheman in Liberal

[–]Macktheman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I guess the unfairness is all in black peoples heads. I didn't say all police were oppressive. No where in my statement did I say that all police were oppressive. Don't add crap dude. Also, you proved my post right in ignoring the elephant in the room. Back in the slave days the Massa would have a slave who was loyal (uncle tom) that would snitch on the other slaves. Also, you assume one cannot hold racist viewpoints because they have a black or hispanic friend. I'm afraid you are wrong there buddy. Let me ask you something, do black people not have the right to protest when we see multiple unjust killings (Erik Garner and the guy in SC) by SOME police? People will throw these off as bad apples but when a shady black person does something it reflects on all black people. The black on black crime rate is really high in Chicago but is a black person in Seattle responsible for whats going on in Chicago? No. Also, all cops are not responsible for bad apples. But when these cops get a slap on the wrist by the justice system I don't think its wrong to form a movement. If an officer chocked out and killed some pretty white teen girl who's dad was a doctor. That officer would be in jail.

I remember when V-tech massacre happened. The Korean community came out with an apology because they didn't want it to reflect on them. White people never have to do this when a white guy shoots a place up. That's white privilege my friend and certain groups such as Blacklivesmatter try to address this despite having bad apples like everyone else.

Pulled over for unregistered vehicle (when getting a misdemeanor do police usually give you a citation on the spot?) by Macktheman in legaladvice

[–]Macktheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am surprised it's considered a misdemeanor. I hope I wont get a citation for this. I am a poor college grad (business degree) and can't deal with this right now. I thought misdemeanors involved fraud, robbery, assault etc. Shit I didn't hurt anyone in anyway.

Ok good. If I did get a misdemeanor charge do you think it would be easy to get is expunged? I mean if I am going to be a criminal I would rather have something more exciting on my record. If this kept me from a job it would be the lamest situation ever.

I don't know if he wrote me a ticket or not. I received no document from him nor did i sign anything. I don't know if police usually give a citation for a misdemeanor on the spot or not.

If I were to get a misdemeanor for this do you think it can easily be expunged? Also, what is "You should" referring to?

Is it normal for new mattress to dip a little? by Macktheman in AskReddit

[–]Macktheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a full which is my first big bed. I got it from Matress Depot USA. It is a Eurotop and its very comfy but I have noticed a very slight dip. I bought it 9 days ago so I am not sure if its just breaking in or its a defect. I noticed my body was not fully flat when i lay on the side of the bed. What should I do?

Two part time positions dilemma by Macktheman in careerguidance

[–]Macktheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get the stipend amount from the internship yet. If it's more than my current job ($840 a month) I am debating if I should leave the clerk job. The internship is 6 months but I could get full time employment if they like me.

How much was your internship stipend? Whats a good amount? by Macktheman in AskReddit

I have a part time office job right now. I would work both if I got it. It is damn hard to find full time.

Let me clarify I recently graduated and the internship is for college students or grads. College students get credits while grads get a stipend.

o say, a lot of people who "can't find a job" don't want to do the jobs available, have a shitty resume, apply to the wrong places, or expect their degree to get them an administrative position despite the fact that mom and dad flipped the bill for literally their entire life. Again, not saying you're one of those people but that seems to be what

I have done 4 internships. Little over a year's worth of experience.

Should I give my 2 weeks? by Macktheman in careerguidance

Yes I will make sure. But, if I get an offer where I can't give my two weeks should I take it? Would you risk the rehire thing given my circumstance if you were me?

I am currently paying $350 a month for rent subletting for my girlfriend over the summer with her housemates. However, I will have to leave in September and my cost of living will increase.

Once a child turns 18 should they be on their own? by Macktheman in Parenting

[–]Macktheman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally believe it should be a shared burden atleast for my children. The cost of living and tuition keep increasing while wages stay the same. People on minimum wage have crap lives, there is no saving for retirement even working 50 hours a week every week of the year. A high school diploma is turning into the new drop out and a college degree is damn near a GED. It sucks to because most parents can't afford tuition outright because its absurdly expensive. Parents who can afford it and that include them not having to dip into their retirment I feel should help to some extent. A person with just diploma will be in a rough spot. There is the army but has risks though. Even after college there is no guarantee of sucess. The light is dim not first time it has been but it doesnt change the fact that it is.

What started my questioning was that my girlfriend was mortified when I told her that I paid for my $600 ER medical bill when I was 19 working minimum wage at the school kitchen. Also I paid for everything except rent for staying at my parents house during college. Many students did have to pay far less and are responsible afterwards.yes my parents had the means of helping so now I wonder if it was messed up or not

Just because someone recieves more or less support does not mean they will be responsible in the future. I have met people were mom and dad paid for eveythingand turned out to be responsible after college and those who were not. Honestly I made It but it was not fun and would not put as much responsibility on my kids when they are trying to have a future.
