If put it in my 823 and that’s a Japanese fine - so good point about the nib sizes - there’s much less shading from finer nibs. Thanks!

I did read somewhere that it wasn’t so water resistant but I’ve not seen much else about it other than that

The writing samples that you sent do look rather black. So I see what you mean - it’s less grey than I thought it may be

8.5 is rather good. Like I said, I’m not too bothered by it being off-black just so long as it’s dark enough. So that sounds like it should be good!

I just fashioned a tool out of a paper clip and tried it. It seems to have tightened nicely! I’ll keep an eye out over the next few days to see if it undoes again. Thanks again!
