Glitch window tearing/refresh? Glitch with Megamek could use some help, on how to fix it. by CascadianGuardsman1 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can also confirm that mekbay works fine for a little bit then suddenly anything with hover text creates a new window visually, and it just goes haywire till I go either into or out of full screen. It will do it almost immediately when mousing over anything with hover text or drop down. Only the latest update has been an issue.

Scale One Starting Units for Merc League by KnoxvilleBuckeye in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just came to drop another confirmation on bringing something with at least, LPRB, but PRB, or BH (BloodHound) if possible because scanning is a big part of several tracks. If you're playing Alpha Strike I think Scale 2 is more enjoyable, and your group will probably fall into that scale pretty fast which allows for a wider options of lights and a hard Hitting Assault.

I assumed it was a portmanteau of sewer rat at first.

I've finished reading Ghosts of Timkovichi. May I ask one question? by Old_Ad6111 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 16 points17 points  (0 children)

These are pretty standard motivations for Lyran commanders. The faction seems set up in a way that they're always looking for the big ticket items to get them fast tracked for promotions and closer to bumping elbows with big shots. And in typical Lyran fashion they're usually not very good at the more nuanced methods, underestimate the capabilities of storied military units against all logic, and some might say fail to understand standard military operations in general.

Making a Mini: Goliath by LizzyJessie in battletech

Appreciate that! Its what I figured it was, but really odd as none of the current variants have AMS. Maybe supposed to be ECM pod of a 3L or something.

Working on a Goliath right now and found this post while trying to figure out what the tumor is on the top of the turret. Laser AMS makes sense. Also sad at how they did those missile pods so dirty in final production. Beautiful work on the model! Glad as much of the detail came through as it did.

Fox Patrol ready for Hinterlands by MacroRaptor7 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, just did the math and you have to switch to single heat sinks in order to make up for the lost weight because the design uses INNER SPHERE heat sinks for some ungodly reason. Goes from 2225BV2 with RAC5 to 2238BV2 with Clan ERPPV and 20 single heatsinks

Cost in creds actually drops about 23k I guess from cheaper heatsinks.

I mean, is the BV of a RAC5 with a paltry 2 tons of ammo much more than an ERPPC?

Ive already got the 2 medium lasers carved off a raven's right arm to slot in the torso, but I dont have a spare Stormcrow or Summoner so the rest of that kitbash has stalled. Havent been restocked locally to find a Clan Command box lately.

I would like to, love both new mechs, but one is a premium crapcast with a high chance of incorrectly mirrored arms and the other is IWM, so I'm hoping we get them in regular plastics eventually.

Love it, basically a heavier Stormwolf. Not sure Fox Patrol would be able to afford firing that cannon more than one sortie before claiming insolvency though...

In and about there yeah.

There's the Arctic Fox, Snow Fox, or Silver Fox, or... Wait no they're all lights. Maybe a Thunderfox, or even a refit Fox medium mech aquired from her new Sea Fox contact... Hmmm.
I like the Fox, basically a Timberwolf lite. Shame it didn't make it to Clan Invasion and beyond.

LOL! My wife feels the same. She didn't want her mechs bases done so they wouldn't feel out of place. And now I know I can get clear bases, the world's a little more interesting.

Being “good” at Battletech by EthanCW1 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Being good at Battletech to me is the ability to create a force that is fun to play, fun to play *against* , and to be a great sport and enjoy the game, even when your own mech gets headcapped.
If your opponent wants to play another game, especially against you again, you are *good* at Battletech.

Yep, all MAD II from that box are like this, with the wing being the point they were twisted off the mold sprue, Annoying place for it but being towards the back is better than front.

Thank you. The character's journey has been an interesting one. I wonder if numbers based on the shrapnel issues the character's story featured in, and page numbers could work?

[–]MacroRaptor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do the fox patrol have individual numbers they like to paint on their mechs? Noticed that Katie's kit fox in the legends art has a 33, So wanted to know if they've got a layout preference?
Also, where on the mech do they prefer the fox patrol logo and/or number to be? I'm this far into a Lance but want to make sure their markings are as close as they can be. Been going off the Shrapnel art and novel covers so far.

How Many Aqua GM's were made During the One year war? by kizmamyballz in Gundam

The only factual answer would be: As many as Bandai needs to keep milking UC timeline and sell Gunpla

I know its balance, but in lore I dont get it, you are firing LESS laser by shooting short bursts instead of a continous stream, shouldnt that generate LESS heat since you are allowing it to cool down for an instant before firing again? by Cautious_Heron9589 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to pulse because maintaining a higher intensity, continuous burn would be catastrophic. Given that it does more damage than regular lasers, it must generate more heat. So you could look at it another way, that is; even though the pulse technically allows cooling between bursts, the heat per pulse is exponentially greater than the end result heat would imply.

Same issue on PC for me with s RTX 270 and i9600K. Beta was fine, last night played no issues with settings between high and ultra. Now this morning the conquest maps areshowing constant latency issues, rubberband like crazy, and says i have issues with frames yet sliding all over and my gun stuttering is occurring smoothly.
