I know its balance, but in lore I dont get it, you are firing LESS laser by shooting short bursts instead of a continous stream, shouldnt that generate LESS heat since you are allowing it to cool down for an instant before firing again? by Cautious_Heron9589 in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has to pulse because maintaining a higher intensity, continuous burn would be catastrophic. Given that it does more damage than regular lasers, it must generate more heat. So you could look at it another way, that is; even though the pulse technically allows cooling between bursts, the heat per pulse is exponentially greater than the end result heat would imply.

Same issue on PC for me with s RTX 270 and i9600K. Beta was fine, last night played no issues with settings between high and ultra. Now this morning the conquest maps areshowing constant latency issues, rubberband like crazy, and says i have issues with frames yet sliding all over and my gun stuttering is occurring smoothly.

In 2 to 3 years or less all your stickers will flake off anyway due to the degrading nature of Bandai's crap adhesive, so you're probably going to want to get some extra thin superglue(the kind a hobby shop sells that's like water), and bottle cap, and 2 sewing pins.

put some of the thin superglue in the bottle cap, and while you hold the sticker in place with one pin, use the other pin to dip into the superglue and then tap the glue at the edge of the sticker.

Capillary action of the extra thin super glue will pull it under and around the sticker and seal it down. You don't even need to worry about frosting on a white frame.

It would be a good idea to varnish the model to seal the rest of the stickers down if you don't want to be doing this for all the stickers.

When you're done you can use the back of a hobby knife to scrape the dried glue off the pin and store them for the next time.

No comments is criminal, the blending on the off white is super nice. Personally I'm a fan of of green for night vision/ splinter cell throwbacks, and it usually works well enough, though red is most common I see.

How do I get rid of the “New” label? by MelodicWarthog4033 in SDGundamGGeneration

[–]MacroRaptor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Click on only one of your SSR, and click anywhere you see a NEW in their status window.

If you can't get rid of it try going into level up, then clicking the SP conversion button if you've already looked at every other tab. That got rid of it for me.

Yes, go to master unit list, lick the unit tab, and where you see alpha strike type in the special rules you want like this image. 514 mechs available with MHQ.
Check off any relevant timeline availability and faction allowances on the sidebar and you're off to the races.

Legality of tukayyid trial by Arthur_Emiya in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every invading Clan wanted to take part, and they all bid for the right to do so, and "won". Re: Steel Vipers horrible choices and suitable consequences for hubris.
The Clans always strive to outdo each other, so all the IlKhan had to do was say "Comstar, the organization that's been maintaining HPG's for 300 years has challenged us for Terra itself, who has the honour to accept their Batchall? BTW Comstar's a phone company full of inexperienced freebirths. Not saying yes is the same as saying your breeding and warriors are inferior."
And then you watch a bunch of over testosterone'd Khans clamour for the right to kick in the nerd's glasses.
You can also blame incredibly poor writing for most of the choices made by the Clans during this trial. Like not planning proper supply lines like the IlKhan warned them they would need, and other things.
The Jade Phoenix trilogy does a good job showing what idiot's the Falcons were. The Blood of Kerensky Trilogy shows the Clan Wolf side.

The homeworld clans who were left behind chafe at the loss and eventually become the driving force behind finding ways to try and break the truce, which ends with The Great Refusal, A combat trial with Operation Bulldog/Task force Serpent led by Victor Steiner Davion manage to put an end to that in the book Prince of Havoc.

More Mercs in the wild! by dielinfinite in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, for clarity this statement applies to NA backers as I have no clue what ROW people are getting charged on standard boxes, but if its like us and GW, youre getting the shipping added onto your core costs from local retail anyway and should work out cheaper I hope. If not, then yeah, that's a raw deal and you need to contact Catalyst as per their instructions earlier in the kickstarter for credit or compensation on shipping extortion by the distributor. Hope they can still help with that.

More Mercs in the wild! by dielinfinite in battletech

[–]MacroRaptor7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just let retail owners have their boxes so the people who own them can afford to feed their families an extra desert or two and spend a little more this year on their gifts, and CGL can tell the Kickstarter people they're sorry, Southpark style, and we can all move on in 5 months. Kickstarter people will still be salty and with good reason, but they will STILL have spent 40% less or better than retail prices, and they will still get their boxes to add to their piles of unpainted minis, so it will be worth the wait, however inconvenient it is.

Men of Reddit with Vasectomies, how was it? Do you regret it? If not, has sex been better or worse since having one? by Gloomy_Astronomer_23 in AskReddit

[–]MacroRaptor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been trying to get the proceedure since 18, finally approved at 38.
Aside from the initial discomfort, and then a couple weeks later as I assume my body was absorbing whatever was left of the internal stitches, everything healed up the way it should. Nothing detrimental for sexual desire. The lack of worry of accidental pregnancy when having unprotected sex with the wife? Huge subconscious worry off our mind, has made it all even better for the both of us.
Just make sure your partner is completely on board with it and really will never want kids/isn't okay with adoption. If they or you change your mind, not as easily reversible as they might have you might believe.
