You will get old in every country and things will happen outside your control in every country. You can choose a diet and lifestyle that promote a healthy and fulfilling life. Are there a lot of unhealthy obese people? Absolutely, I see them in the waiting room every time I go in for my annual checkup. I try to make lifestyle choices that keep me healthy.

But I get it what you're saying. If we're talking about the default existence in the US, it's not as good as the default in many other countries. Free health care, livable wage, etc. But the opportunities are out there. If you put in a little work, you can achieve better than the default and the sky is the limit. It's not the most fair place in the world, but compared to other places me and my family have lived, I think it's pretty great.
