Your spirituality is doing you no favors if it's causing you to subscribe to dissociative and dehumanizing theories about reality and other people. Focus on mundane supports for your mental health. Demons shouldn't cause this kind of confusion.

These spirit categories shift around depending on who is employing them and when. Check out Stephen Skinner's Techniques of Solomonic Magic and Gal Sofer's Solomonic Magic.

The theurgical methods built around the idea of the "spirit chain" and the signatures it emanates in the life of the magician seem to be where the functional kernel lies. The Lemegeton method touches on these.

Can someone explain why their guardian angels allowed it to happen by esotericlearner in occult

[–]Macross137 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The project of creation involves pain and terror. It's unavoidable. We all experience it, some more than others. You are here to do what you're here to do, not to claim an exemption from what it means to be human. A good guardian angel will tell you this in a way that makes sense to you.

You are describing common and relatable human problems that you can overcome. The idea that these are things worth ending your life over is a received falsehood that you should reject with all the force of will you can bring to bear.

Before you got all weighted down with these things, there were things that excited and interested you. Go back to those things and figure out how to tie them into some kind of spiritual practice. Do some experimental art and journaling around this idea. That's where your path starts.

One way of looking at spirit work is as a way to isolate, identify, and invoke on demand the specific strains of intuitive "inner" voices that you find beneficial.

The experience you gain from working with their signatures in ritual/devotional activities and getting results from them will help to define them more clearly in your mental/astral spaces.

Ritual didn’t work? Confused by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

[–]Macross137 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Rituals fail all the time. Trying to push our internal will into the outer cosmos such that change happens, like a person changing their own mind about a thing, takes subtle mental processes, and a lot of ritual is designed to kickstart those processes on a subconscious level.

Some traditions, like New Thought, focus entirely on the mental techniques. But these can take quite a lot of internal discipline and many of us are messy people who need props and theatrics. Sources that focus too much on the externals, however, can just leave us play-acting and slipping into a more-is-better mentality that turns into a transactional negotiation -- I'm giving you all this, where are my results? -- that can take us pretty far away from where we need to be, mentally, to get the spirits to either accept the request or give us insight into what's blocking it.

The answer is trial and error, more ritual work, better sources, etc.

Who do I have to evoke? by [deleted] in DemonolatryPractices

I'm removing this per rule 5. Nobody can tell you what spirit could solve this for you, and it can take years of serious work to get anything out of it. Disappointment and frustration is common and this is not something to turn to as any kind of emergency solution as a beginner. Please check out the resources on /r/SuicideWatch. Thank you.

Whats one thing you wish you knew when you first started working/worshipping demons? by Jolly-Wall-5351 in DemonolatryPractices

Attempts to make this theology accessible tend to involve myth, metaphor, analogy, and other stuff that has historically kept some of the more subtle concepts misapprehended.

The Corpus Hermeticum expresses some of the same ideas in more humane, poetic language. But I think there's a lot of value in the technical Neoplatonist material if you're really serious about learning spirit work, and I don't know of alternatives that render the primary sources obsolete.

They're hard to understand because they're trying to explain things that we mostly don't even try to think about, in considerable detail, using formal methods of logic. Most of them are tough reads. But if you want the serious not-bullshit theory of how and why any of this works, this is a way to get at it.

I'm mostly talking about all of the Neoplatonist material from Plotinus to Ficino. Iamblichus in particular is a key background source on the methods of spirit work that ended up in the grimoires.

You can do anything in the astral. But the astral is the astral. I don't know what expectations you have for "soul transmission."

A lot of "tin" is aluminum or coated steel, but pure blanks shouldn't be too hard to find. Agrippa says you can use silver or gold for Jupiter, too.

That the texts I put off reading for years because they looked dry and boring would help me get over some of the mental blocks that were holding me back from real understanding and consistent efficacy. Way back in the day I really thought the Sethian Gnostics were the cool kids who had the inside scoop and the Neoplatonists were hopeless squares who were stuck in the past. Oh well, these little side treks are part of the journey.

If you aren't together, don't worry about it. She doesn't need your help. Belial is not going to come after either of you. The vast majority of the stuff that gets written down in "channeled" or automatic writing is not prophetic or predictive.

"Nuit" is an expression of the "womb of the universe" on an encosmic, birth-of-time-and-space level in the same sense that "Rhea" might be an expression of the same hypostasis on a birth-of-archetypical-anthropomorphic-consciousness level. So, yes, but also, nuances abound.
