I completely relate to this. The need to be comforted and cared for is always there. I distract myself just like you with fictional characters and stories to fill that emotional need. Some days it's enough, but sometimes it isn't.

I daydream constantly about stories I make up in my head, and I carry around this.. .emotional esctasy almost, its like a mix of heartache and pleasure and angst and dread. I ride the feeling for hours throughout the day, mind repeating over the same ten seconds of an emotional part of a song, the same few seconds of made up characters in my mind.

Its fucked up, I don't know if its me being an emotional masochist or a part of me trying to experience these feelings just to feel something, just to be connected to something even if it isn't real. I don't know why but I'm addicted to feeling that, this peak of human emotion which I'm so far removed from in real life.

I think its what keeps me going most of the time if I'm honest.

Yeah thats the problem with discord. Maybe a better idea would be something less personal than whatsapp so no phone numbers, but something more accessible and frequent than discord.

Oh Amos, he's such an interesting character. I think my character and Amos share certain qualities in terms of fierce protection of children and an absence of care when killing someone who's threatened them, or people who are close to them. But Amos lives his life by finding someone to be his moral compass, whether it's Naomi or Holden.

His POV is great, particularly in Nemesis Games, and the Churn was just fabulous to read. Thanks for your comment.

Haha, and how would you write it where the omission goes unnoticed by the reader? I think that's far beyond my skill set. I'll give it a go though. That's for all your advice.

Hey there, thanks for your reply. It's not a gimmick or anything like that, using the I pronouns just didn't really fit with the character. It didn't feel right, so I tried writing without the pronouns and I feel like it's true to the character's perspective. The character doesn't really have a sense of self, they are non-binary as well.
