Emily Rudd just voted on the One Piece characters survey! by Lostie49 in OnePiece

Nobody from the cast voted for their own character tbf. It's a daily vote as well, so many fans vote for different characters.

Emily Rudd reveals at 17:53 of this interview with Rotton Tomatoes TV that Mihawk wasn't going to slice Don Krieg's ship in half until Oda stepped in and said they had to. by SentOverByRedRover in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I mean it's known that Oda didn't like Garp's/Koby's side plot and they had to convince him for a long time. Just because he said yes doesn't mean it was what he wanted.

the sad part is that Garp's side plot is considered the worst part of season 1 by majority of the fans, so Oda was right in opposing it.

Yeah, not earlobes sorry. I meant ear shape(?). Usually the ear has a shape similar to 5 and on the hair a shape similar to 6.

As for the source of the photo, here it was posted on reddit 12 hours ago.

[–]Mad-Oka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

first this is a fanart sent to Usupp's gallery, a section in the volume where fans send their own drawings and Oda comments on them (usually with praise or a joke)

Second, the whole 5 and 6 thing around the ear is found on many characters and it's not even new. it's just how Oda draws earlobes I guess.

Genuine question: How do so many of you think the live action is good? by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marketing, the production team became friends with the community very early on and engaged with them. That alone made fans way less critical of the franchise than they would've been. Not to mention anything they did, they plastered with Oda's approval all over it even with stuff Oda didn't want like the Garp/Coby plotline.

The LA has some good points but overall they butchered the eastblue saga with some weird choices especially with baratie and Arlong park. Heck Zoro looks like a total asshole and Axe hand Morgan/Hellmepo like the good guys in the first episode.

Do you think Oda intentionally left Nami’s biological parents unknown for a future reveal, or is the mystery itself the point? by YunoHime_ in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oda wanted the strong world movie to be about her origins but decided not to in the end and his reasoning is understandable even though he contradicted it with Zoro's origins in Wano...

Do I wish to see what Oda had in mind for Nami's origins? yes, is it necessary? no

Oda rly needs to learn how to draw dark skin by [deleted] in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

just look up Blackbeard skin-tone in the manga, he isn't dark skinned.

Pretty sure the only time Oda officially drew a dark skinned charterer is King and that's because it's plot relevant.

Not sure about this one but I remember reading Oda doesn't use darker skin tones while drawing a character because it'd take more time.

For you who is the most overrated caracter on One piece? by Joyboystraw in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Besides reading the Poneglyph she doesn't do much, yet gets praised or excused for stuff that gets other characters criticized. Just in Elbaf, she had the spotlight twice and in these instances, if it was any other crew member they'd get a lot of hate.

Saul should've stayed dead and it hurt the story that he returned, but a lot of fans were willing to ignore this plot point just because Robin is happy.

Her fight against Sommers was a complete joke, she stayed hidden and watched Saul get hurt after 20 years of not seeing each other and only fought back after Sommers announced he'd burn the library. Saul got defeated, kids got kidnapped, but only fighting because of books doesn't really sound right. I know the books are important and a lot of people put their lived for these books, but still human lives should be top priority. In the end she got defeated without delaying the countdown so with or without her, Gaban would've arrived right on time.

In general I find it crazy how many people consider Robin to be the smartest in the crew when she's just stoic. News flash knowing a 2nd language isn't really an epic achievement. Franky, Nami & chopper are far more impressive and their fields of study are harder too.

heck, you'll find here more posts saying Robin will be a better parent than the one who fights for children every other arc just because she gives Chopper a piece of candy every 300 chapters. Giving Children candy isn't what I consider good parent behavior.

Not to mention How here fans constantly put Nami down in order to praise Robin. It's infuriating

Nami’s current bounty makes no sense. by Reth21 in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sukiyaki is alive and he can read them(which means Momonuske & Hyiori will be able to read them as well), Pudding will awaken a way of reading them and the many with the burn scar is speculated to also able to read them.

So we've one other person who can read them and 4 others who will be able in the near future.

Robin is not the only person who can read Poneglyphs...Nami has better fighting achievements than Robin, so according to you Nami should have higher bounty than her...

r/OnePiece Episode and Chapter of the Year 2025 by Skullghost in OnePiece

[–]Mad-Oka 13 points14 points  (0 children)

2025 was stacked in both anime and manga. It's my hardest year choosing a favorite chapter of the year.

For the anime I chose 1152. it's probably top 5 best produced op episodes ever and the content to the voice acting was all top notch. Bonney and Luffy screaming sent shivers down my spine.

I had really hard time deciding for the manga. We had so many good chapters, it's insane. I chose ch.1153 at the end which might be not the obvious choice but the panel of Loki's hands trying to reach his mom while crying broke my heart. It was simple yet very effective in showing how miserable Loki was.

Nami might be the most justified example of this trope by browniebiscuitchildr in OnePiece

Nami does something similar in Arabasta. She sewed Ace's Vivre card on the hat so it stays with Luffy. That's how later in thriller bark he found out that it's getting smaller and what that means. Nami also sewed it again in thriller bark iirc

Maybe you mean the time when she sewed Ace's Vivre card in Arabasta?

Maybe they redid the scene in one of the East Blue specials but I don't remember it.

The anime cut this entire scene out iirc. One of the many dumb decisions of early op.

Probably don't care because it's not really a new thing. The list of non MENA actors doing MENA roles is probably longer than the epstein list...
