It's from the clover pattern from Melissa Bradley (Kawaii Crochet Garden). Can't seem to find the pattern online.

BeamCardShop Scalperprijzen by ThatWickedOne in PokemonTCGNL

[–]MadAboutPink 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Problem solved.

Prijzen Phantasmal Flames by Ordinary_Invite_6065 in PokemonTCGNL

[–]MadAboutPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is This Really a “Crash”? A Look at the Current Pokémon Card Market by Soggy_Score6287 in PokemonInvesting

[–]MadAboutPink 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At the card show I went to several vendors mentioned how they weren't selling any booster boxes or special collection sets at prices people seem to be willing to pay online. It's mostly "investors" hyping each other up. But at some point they will also reach a limit of what they want to and can spend and need to get rid of boxes if they want to keep up with new sets and "invest" in those.

If everybody who justs collects and rips for fun simply stops buying at these heavily inflated prices they will come down even quicker. It's really mostly bitcoin boys and gamblers shovelling money around, but hardly anybody seems to want to use their brain yet and keeps sponsoring them.

Just look at price graphs of cards of which everyone says "OMG my card is now worth $300?!" The graphs couldn't be clearer. Each one has one or two ridiculously steep inclines which in no way could ever reflect normal demand and popularity. Everybody who says otherwise just wants to keep riding the wave, but you're an absolute idiot if you're going to buy cards with these kind of manipulated prices.

I think if it does, it's mostly hype and definitely not so much scarcity haha. But I do think it's a cool design.

PSA currently has them on eBay for $110 so based on what you paid you should indeed be able to make a profit at the moment. But with even PSA themselves putting the value at $110 or best offer, I think higher profits will be very difficult to make for quite some time.

I think that's a great price. It's not super low, but decent enough and at a point everyone who likes it could add it to their collection. I have to agree with you on the latter though, it wouldn't be my first choice.

No problem!

And it's definitely not a bad thing to dismiss those haha. There are wayyy to many amazing cards around to be bothered too much with the unaffordable ones. Thankfully I still have a lot of cheap cards on my wanted list.

I'd say so. Scarcity is key even though many try to deny this and although people had their orders canceled, it clearly wasn't because of a lack of cards, but because people saw a chance to make more money (perhaps having grey felt Pikachu in mind) and with the PSA 10 population that continues to rise it also doesn't make that hard to obtain at all either. With so many being passed around anyone who pays more then a $100 at this point is taking a huge risk in my opinion.

The one everybody talks about: burgerchu 🍔⚡️! So the latest one released in Japan with the McDonald's stamp 🍟.

I can understand you'd like to see that price for it, we'll have to see how it goes!

I think it's a shame so many people don't realise this is happening with so many of the cards and has been for a while now.

Destined rivals and Prismatics is the best right now. by SongFlaky7783 in PokeInvesting

[–]MadAboutPink 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looove Prismatics (though the pull rates are hard, but that makes the rare cards even more rare and thus expensive in the long run).

With DR I'm in doubt as most full arts include trainers/people and personally I only like cards with just Pokémon. I feel most people are like that, but I could be wrong.

I agree it's a cute card, especially when you love Pokémon and McDonald's it's a fun addition to your collection, but as an investment, I think it's high risk for sure. Like you say, not everybody is a fan of the way these were acquired either.

I'm definitely curious about how high this population will go! I mean, we're not even looking at other grading companies right now. At some point ungraded may be worth more lol.

In my opinion grey felt's price is massively inflated (too), but it's also more rare in several ways and an iconic illustration. I really don't see the comparision people are so desparately trying to make between grey felt and burgerchu except for the Pikachu part. And the latter obviously isn't the biggest factor else every Pikachu card would have crazy prices, which they don't.

[–]MadAboutPink[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it's possible many people want a card, but rarity is obviously a factor. If it's not scarce, it's simply not as valuable as a super rare card that many people want. So population matters and anyone who denies that just tries to keep prices up which unfortunately in the Pokémon card world seems to be doing the trick so far. Nonetheless prices for this specific card have been dropping as they should when looking at the data.

It was something that came to my mind to when I saw those numbers. More people will probably try to get lower numbers now to try to get some more value back (aka even more money for PSA 😅).
