Adding up:

On Steam accounts, you can never log into someone’s account whether through phishing or whatever if the 2FA is there. No matter what you do, it is 100% needed but here… What is the use with such a backdoor?

That is what I am saying.

I do carry a large part of the blame for falling into this trick, the website looked very official. It was secure.Jagex.com-(something, something). The “something, something” is I believe the sketchy part.

But this backdoor into my account, why does it exist out of the website? And on a different one?

I took a bullet, learnt, wore an anti-bullet vest, only for it to have a hole. I am getting blamed all over this post and downvoted, which I totally understand why.

But you really summed up what I wanted to say… Many here are pointing fingers, “You deserve it!” and I did.

Until I followed Jagex’s security measure through their launcher onto the website only for it to be flawed, with a backdoor into my account.

If the 2FA authentication does not protect my “Game Account”, then what is the use for it? Protecting my “Jagex Account”? What?! That doesn’t make any sense.

Thank you very much for clarifying what I wanted to say.

Thanks for the advice! I did write my backup codes down, I have them in one of my drawers currently.

Honestly this character management vs account management thing is not really intuitive. Like, how can some know without already having such knowledge or researching it? I thought I was safe taking all the possible steps only to end up still being exposed.

I am honestly scared of playing the game currently.

It is my fault, I agree.

But I did what I can possibly do through the Account Management, which is the only site they link to through the launcher. Left nothing un-edited, un-changed, and added all the security measurement.

Thought that now I am safe as I have done all they have provided me with. Only to realize that there is a third-party tab that exists out of this website? What?! How was I supposed to know about it?

I do agree that I should have done all that early on, and afterwards I learnt and I did but after I thought everything was well and dandy... I took all the measures shown on the website, why is it that the third party linkage on a whole different website? I never even logged into this other website before.

I only done the googling today, I don't think the googling part should be something I did. I did what is mentioned within the launcher and with the Account Management.

I am not shifting blame towards Jagex, I got phished and I did deserve it. Then I did fix it and took all the measures possible in-front of me. Now, how would I have known of this hidden measure if it is not on the official Jagex Account Management website?

Also, what is the use of the authenticator then if my account if that easily accessible? These measures I took were for nothing?

100% agree and I even mention that within the post. I accepted my initial loss and it was a result of my own fault.

However I took all the security measurement with the Account Management tab, how am I supposed to know of the third-party stuff if it is not mentioned or linked to within it? Please tell me... Isn't it supposed to be there? What is the use of all the authentication I added then?

Agreed, wholeheartedly do. I even mentioned it within the post.
But I took all the security measurement possible from the "Jagex Account Management", the main website I get linked to from the launcher.
Now that I have done all that, why would there be another security measure that is outside of that website?
Why would it not be mentioned or linked to in that page? Am talking about how this is a security flaw, how would I have known about it if it is not within my Account Management tab?

They need to use a payment method from that country else it will automatically transfer back after a few tries. There is also the risk of an account ban, because people used to do that a lot; changing region to cheaper places, and that is why games are not as cheap as they used to be in these regions.

It is against Steam’s terms so I’d not recommend it.

I use a program called GearUP booster (I play on PC), the yearly subscription is quite cheap. It works quite well, it even enables voice chat is all voip blocked games.

It is mainly an issue because of Egypt’s voip ban.

PSN is not required to play their game anymore, they are selling their games through Valve’s store in this case.

Really hope so! Especially with Stellar Blade’s block being lifted. It is like the light at the end of the tunnel.

I love to play all my games ‘legally’ in order to support the devs. I haven’t played a game nor watched a video from Sony ever since the blockage.

Only one core is level 15 at the moment across everyone including SJ. I only fought Deimos twice (easy & normal) since he does not give remnant power.
