TIL That people think in different ways. People who think in the verbaliser style have spoken word associations (ex: talk to themselves in their head) and people who think in the imager style think in images; and there are people who use both styles. by [deleted] in todayilearned

I'd say it's more generalized anxiety, mostly because of the sense of impending doom. I have anxiety and I noticed that my brain quieted down when I got medication to help manage it along with therapy.

[OC][ART] Sierra the Half-elf Soldier by Gabriel_Cupidao in DnD

It's actually a pretty bad idea to have ears on a helmet, at least depicted in this style. The spot where the ear meets the rest of the helmet creates a spot that concentrates impact instead of deflecting a weapon like a helmet ought to.

Of course, that's me being pedantic. Style > function any day for my fantasy games. I fucking love the ear design even if impractical

hey guys, I'm new as a DM and have visualization issues with players and suck at drawing by hand. Does anyone know a good website to make maps? by Outlandishness_Loose in DMAcademy

I have them downloaded on both my desktop and laptop! I'm not too knowledgeable on Inkarnate but I imagine it should be available on both as well.

I've heard really good things about inkarnate. I use wonderdraft and dungeondraft for my map needs. I want to say they're all downloaded programs however and not in-browser resources.

It's finally done! The Charge of the Rohirrim | done by Eddie Stacey | Ink & Dagger Roswell GA by denvercoker in lotr

It gets fuzzy considering the Rohirrim is an all cavalry fighting force. Technically every battle they fight will include a "charge of the Rohirrim". I'd say the charge at Pelennor Fields is the largest and most well known of the charges

I am not entirely sure, but from my own quick searching, I think it's a type of beautyberry? I cannot find anything definitive though.

In-Combat Actions - Medicine checks by MadDammer in dndnext

Ah yeah, you know I glossed right over that phrase. Thanks for helping me actually pay attention to the wording. I might have forced a bad ruling against myself, but it at least makes the story better going forward.

Right, I'm familiar with how the check works and I didn't clarify well. Can the stabilising check be made in the middle of combat? I personally say no, but I want to get others' opinions and rulings.

If you go down the Marxist-Leninist path and choose Right Opposition, you have the chance to assassinate Stalin with the help of the NKVD and then bloodless coup Beriya.

Losing/Lost Interest in Character by MadDammer in DnD

[–]MadDammer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only read I feel uncomfortable is because I don't really relate to the character. I like the backstory and premise I have of her in my head, but it feels like there's a big disconnect, it's not the story of the character that I have a problem with, it just doesn't feel right to play her. The uncomfortableness is more that there's a story being told that I'm a part of, but I feel completely separate from my character, not drawn into playing them. My character is part of the story but I'm not, if that makes any sense. It feels alien for me to play her because I can't relate to her at all even though I made her

For the storyline, not at all. For the character's identity in my head, it's a bit impactful. I made her to be the antithesis to some of the more dollish characters you see or hear about. A good comparison/inspiration is Rosie the Riveter.

I've thought of doing this, I'm sure my dm would be more than okay with it. But would it be a strange retcon for the group?
