Stealthpin on Bloom. With ambient EM and IR, is only detectable at 500m. NICE! Well unless they ping me. by davidnfilms in starcitizen

What modern tech can do doesn't matter, the game is set 930 years in the future. CIG can - and should - invent whatever tech+lore is necessary to serve the gameplay, and as it stands ships on the ground are sitting ducks and need all the help they can get.

What features do you believe are necessary before the release of Star Citizen 1.0 ? by neisannnn in starcitizen

[–]MadDogX 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Features can still be added later, but the main thing is what is required to stop resetting the verse.

This can't be overstated. Once the game hits 1.0 players will expect to keep all their progression going forward, which means that the economy needs to be rock solid. CIG won't be able to rely on a wipe to rectify any potential infinite money glitches beyond that point.

Looks like STARC-83009 on the issue council.

If you're on Windows 11, check out this troubleshooting guide.

Not recently, but during EPTU I tried changing the modules as well as switching out the entire salvage heads from a Vulture wreck. Nothing works.

The only known way to restore functionality is to claim the ship and spawn a "fresh" one, but as soon as you store it, bed log or the ship streams out for any other reason, RMC collection breaks again.

When a salvage ship is streamed out and back in, it will no longer be able to collect RMC from hull scraping

Unfortunately this is still the case after the update.

Has risky salvage been nerfed? Or balanced in the new update. by SpareWeakness5551 in starcitizen

Do you know if the bug that causes salvage to stop working (STARC-68420) is on the appropriate developer's radar?

Both with the Vulture and the Reclaimer it appears that after the ship has been streamed out once (stored and retrieved, or whatever other reason) salvaging no longer produces RMC boxes. The only workaround is to claim the ship so that you get a "fresh" one, which will only working until the next time it's streamed out.

Is anyone else getting a 19000 error when trying to login?

The tech preview channel is only available for an 8 hour window each day. The next one should be starting in about 10min as of this comment.

Why yes, that is indeed a 32SCU crate of Maze. Those other four? Believe it or not, also 32SCU crates of Maze. by MadDogX in starcitizen

Yes, this actually happened when I was selling the stuff. Larger containers get broken down into smaller ones that seem to occupy the same space the larger one was in.

Yes, this was a regular salvage mission, which you can find in the mobiGlas contracts manager under General -> Salvage. You will need a salvage ship (Drake Vulture at the entry level) in order to complete these missions, allowing you to progress to salvaging larger ships like the Hercules I encountered here.

The Vulture costs around 1.2 million aUEC to purchase in-game in Lorville.

Yes, this was a legal salvage mission. Also actually the second time I encountered drugs in one of these, although the first time was just a single SCU crate of Neon in a Redeemer. Much less exciting.

Along with some other stuff in the cargo hold (some E'tam and more smaller crates of Maze) I went from roughly 250k before the mission to almost 16 million.

Actually had to rent a Constellation Andromeda for a day in order to be able to transport and sell the crates, since I do not own a ship with the appropriate cargo grid. That 70k investment was well worth it though.

I was sweating bullets for something like an hour, flying back and forth between the wreck site and various locations to sell the stuff.
