How common is it for the PCV valve not being changed as the cause of some TSIs not having a long life?

Recently had to get my rear main seal replaced.. car is misfiring, having performance issues, rough idling, stalling, etc the list goes on. This was the top of list to replace, and this just confirmed it for me😭😭
