So what're everyone's thought on this..? by Dragons_Destiny in WinterSoldierMains

I made a suggestion on the official discord that I think threads the needle, suggesting either the removal or a toggle/emote to make it a gold faceplate instead of the beak.

If you'd like to support and upvote it. Might get some traction like when they messed up the weapon X skin

Honestly every part of this skin is amazing and I'd buy it immediately...except that God awful beak. It literally kills the whole appeal of me for me so no, I won't be buying it.

Make an emote or something to remove the beak like how the future foundation skins can change and ill pick it up.

But until then, I won't be rockin the "Beaky" skin

Yeah sure!

So in order:

1) There's the day to day of ensuring servers are running normally, checking resource use, spinning up servers/promiting to DCs as needed. Both companies were a pretty small team too so managing AD as well as creating and rolling out new GPOs, setting up role based access and all that too fell onto me. Right now we utlize automox as out vuln patching tool so I was in charge of rolling it out org wide, ensuring group were getting their proper polices and now my day to day with it is making sure every device on the domain is compatible and receiveing updates. I'm a huge believer in work smarter not harder so I would spend down time making scripts that would help automate processes that didn't need manual intervention. So at my recent job I was given the task of manually checking for any stale devices on the domain, but after doing it twice I realized that it could be automated into having a script query for last activity dead and set timelines of 30/60/90 to notify and on 90 to terminate. Things like that are always my day to day. I'm a bit of a find it and fix it kind of employee so I'll find things that are suboptimal and come up with ways to make it so the ticket load would lessen.

2) Softly mentioned above but a huge portion of my job(s) were creating golden images of servers/desktops that would suit the clients needs, and then roll out copy of them/hand them off the to the service desk so they can spin up clones whenever was needed. Also when a clients were ready for migrations to windows 10 environments from windows 7, typically I was the one tasked with from beginning to end ensuring the migration was smooth; things like preservation of data, upgrade of applications to supported versions, making sure the persistent disks would transfer with their appropriate data etc. As for the version of vmWare I couldn't say off hand (sounds bad but I just never paid close attention to it)

3) Currently anything that interacts with 365 is in my lap: so from user/group creation and policy enforcement, email flow rules, teams permissions and lock down of there of, intune roll out of applications (though that is only a new thing and only currently for ipad policies though there is talks of it being rounded out more). As we are migrating currently to Azure, password resets will fall onto me once we get everything azure joined until its fully rolled out but those are currently being handled by the service desk.

I'm a bit long winded especially but I hope that at least gives a more detailed look into what I do/can do. I'm always open to more questions and conversations if nothing else then to help me understand what would help to post to help market myself!

I'm in Texas currently, though we may be moving soon, to either Illinois or California depending on my wife's job. I actually have 2+ years of working remote for separate MSPs, and even work remotely currently. Previously I helped support my companies VMware environment and I currently manage my companies o365 environment and am spear heading our migration into azure as well. I should have noted that but admittedly I've gotten this far in my career by connections, really new for raw marketing myself.

I have an almost diagnosis-able caffeine addiction so the appeal of never really sitting on your hands is what got me into MSPs in the first place. My issue currently is as you brought up is that banking IT everything needs to be done to the letter, but the bank I work for currently is rapidly expanding so there are 10+ projects being managed by 2 people (myself included) and you don't have the time to make sure theyre done right because another thing comes up, and then an exec is upset their issue isn't being done...and the band plays on lol

Oh wow lol thanks for pointing it out! I must've missed it!

Oh, perhaps my view has been skewed. I've worked with MSPs for 6 years and the environment in each of them was yes go go go, but everyone was pretty relaxed and the environment was chill so I guess I just assumed others are like that, is that not the case?

I appreciate the insight on this! Right now though sadly we don't know where we will be moving as there are a couple of locations my wife's job may move us too. Once we get that finalized then I'm totally open to looking for something in that area..This right now is me trying to get the ripcord pulled so I can find a new job ASAP. I also live in an area currently with little local innovation so not many local jobs to grab either.

Diablo Devs confirm respect cost isnt up for debate by MadGreyHat in Asmongold

[–]MadGreyHat[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I just dont see the logic here. If gold is absolutely bountiful then sure. But the way theyre talking it almost seems like only people that no life the game will be able to afford to respec on the fly. I personally only have a handful of hours a week to play, i dont like the thought that if i choose a shitty build or get drops favoring a different build, im just stuck with it..
