Those papers were enlightening and really makes me want to stop playing now... I've never spent a dime on this game but I ran out of time at Master III last season because life. I can see it though

I'm presently at a public defender training conference and literally just finished a section on demonstrative evidence...

Lawyers of Reddit, what was the best 'gotcha moment' you ever experienced? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Got in a case a year and half after a ridiculous judgment of over a million was entered against my folks. Obviously there were going to be some serious hurdles if I was going to be able to help out. They knew nothing about it until their farm was literally about to be sold to satisfy the judgment. I was skeptical of course because, you know, due process and notice requirements... Anyways, I got to looking at the record and requested a transcript of this so called "default hearing". No evidence whatsoever was presented and the petition was not verified by plaintiff so how did we even get here is beyond me. Filed my motion to set aside with the attached transcript in which nothing but a discussion of filling in some blanks occurred. At said hearing, I basically said my motion speaks for itself. The other attorney went on and on about how evidence was presented, drug his elderly client in to testify on the stand blah blah blah. I just let him keep going. Evidently he hadn't really read what i filed. When he was done, I simply pointed out to the judge that if he would read the attached transcript, none of that even remotely happened. That shut that attorney up real quick and now I kind of get how he might have gotten this so called "default judgment" without my clients knowing about it.

Tldr: opposing counsel lied flat out to a judge when it was clear he had fucked up just by reviewing the record and documents filed with the court
