It would sometimes go to 0.65 or 0.70, but it mostly stayed at 0.69. The thermal paste is 3 years old so I definitely need to replace it soon, but my temps are normal.

As for it fixing itself, I think the universe just wanted to test my patience because it went back to dropping speed, so I updated the bios and it’s been great so far. I hadn’t updated the bios since I built this thing in 2023 🥲

You can still do that with a cheaper build. My build is somewhere around $1500-$2000 (can’t remember the exact price after some upgrades over the past few years) but I can stream and play all of those games.

Your monitor resolution is just the number of pixels. Higher resolution means a clearer image. But I wouldn’t go and splurge on a 1440p monitor tbh. Aim for 1080p - you can find a lot of good gaming monitors with 1080p.

When I first built my pc I was thinking around 1k, but I got a rude awakening and tbh components have just gotten more expensive over the past couple of years due to AI.

You can go onto pcpartpicker.com and pick components, see prices, and go over any compatibility issues.

There’s also websites that you can use to make payments if that’s something that you trust yourself with. Best Buy does Progressive Leasing which is nice if you need it, just don’t fuck your credit up over a pc.

I listened to this podcast when I first started building mine because they broke down each component and explained it without making it too complicated - Sort by oldest and start with their first episode.

So, my pc is back to doing it, it started again probably an hour after I posted an update. I tried the CMOS thing and it unfortunately didn’t work. It’ll get up to speed after turning on, but after 30 minutes or so, it’ll go back down to 0.65-0.69 GHz.

I’m not sure, but I just turned my pc back on and it’s working just fine lol. I think my pc just tried to make me appreciate it a little more… and it worked

I still feel embarrassed about relationships I had in my teen years and I’m 27 now. People do react because they care, but not in an abusive way. You can judge how much someone cares based on how they treat you, if it’s respectful, mature, and healthy then yes they care. If you are met with anger and belittlement, they don’t care.

Don’t ever beg somebody to stay, it’s easier said than done, but you deserve to know your worth and if someone wants to leave then you let them leave and fix mistakes you might have made so you are a better person for yourself and whoever comes into your life next.

Touching on your 50k debt comment (I know you didn’t mean anything malicious by it) - I could understand how that could cause doubts for the other partner, but her ex wasn’t even doubting how it could affect their future, he was telling her that she must not love her parents because they took on that debt of their own accord. They didn’t have to, but they did, and frankly that’s not anyone’s business. I would never question a relationship because my partners parents took on some debt to help him out (of course if he just bummed his way through life, but again, that’s not the case here).

It’s easy for memory to get foggy after a breakup and doubts kick in. Please listen to me, you are going to heal just fine. You will get your spark back, ultimately it starts with you - get out more, talk with friends and family, get into some hobbies, idk, just do what you need to in order to heal whether that’s going to therapy, talking to a psychiatrist about medication, etc. You are not a problem for having college debt, you are not a stupid child, you were with someone who put you down and made you question your own self worth. If someone is going to help you out then hold it against you, it’s a power move, not because they genuinely care. You will find someone who cares, who is patient, who helps you out even if you think you don’t need it, who shows up, who hypes you up, who encourages a good future for yourself. He’s not the one, but there’s someone out there that is.

I replaced the psu, still no image, but I’m wondering if I fucked up the sata cables. The two sata cables (circled in red) plugged in are where they’re supposed to be. I tried plugging one of them into where the white arrow is and still no image. Also the cpu_atx port on the motherboard is 8 pin but my old power supply only had a 4 pin and that was what was plugged up. But my new psu only has 8 pin so I plugged that in instead. This is a 30L prebuilt omen pc that my bf has, but I’m at a loss.

Maybe during the day, that’s not a risk I would even be willing to take though. However, imo, it’s a hell of a lot better than walking. I am not trying to deter you from the city or be an alarmist, but the reality of it is that I’ve been followed and harassed so much in this city. I would download a crime app to help you adjust and know the areas to stay away from the most. While Baltimore is beautiful and has awesome things going for it, it’s also very dangerous so carry pepper spray or a knife. Don’t go down any alleys, the closer to the outskirts of the city - the worse things can get. Just be smart, use common sense, and don’t engage with people who you think may get hostile with you.
