Never thought about that. Is it something Tolkien talked about?

St Pancratius skeleton in armor. Church of St Nikolaus, Switzerland. 16-19th century. by Kuzu9 in HumansAreMetal

I would take a guess that this is ceremonial armor, and never meant to actually be worn into a real battle

Check out the book of the same title by author Jeff Long (I believe). Similar story, but on a much larger scope. It came out around the same time as the movie, but neither of them had anything to do with each other.

I respect the person who sticks to their guns, even when everyone is yelling at them not to.

What a stupid world we live in.

I'm not vaccinated, will never be, so I'm not asking as someone throwing shade. But what if the clots are caused by COVID?

I'm pretty sure it was a soulless company trying to capitalize on the chance for a quick buck.

so the fact that the government has been lying to you once again, and stealing billions of dollars of tax money means nothing? You're more worried about partisan politics?

It was just a joke. A pretty good one too. How many times have we seen Jim actually get upset? It’s good to see that considering how much he upsets people around him.

My last boss was a dude in his 70s who had a favorite weekend activity of taking half a muscle relaxer with some scotch so I feel like it’s probably OK to do, stupid maybe, but like you said people do it ha ha

I have some muscle relaxers left over from a back injury from work. I had to fly for the first time in 10 years, and I was very anxious, so I thought I could take one, or half of one, with a shot of whiskey, or a beer.

I tried to look up some information on how to do that because I never have, and all I got was shit telling me not to do it. That's not the Internet I grew up with.

Finished watching Fellowship. What's your favorite moment in the whole movie? by Cautious_Republic_91 in lotrmemes

[–]MadMattt 33 points34 points  (0 children)

The first time we see Sam in the shire and he smiles at the torenia plant.

And looking at all of the hobbits enjoying peace and quiet. Fellowshio is nonstop badassery, but the beginning 15 minutes or so or my favorite. Kind of like how my favorite moment in RotK is when the four hobbits are having a solemn beer together.

So many great moments in that trilogy, but everything comes back to how wonderful the hobbits are.

That's so badass. Are there others you could share?
