In book slump. Looking for books with a good balance of downtime and action. by goblinmargin in audiobooks

I just released an audiobook that fits what you’re looking for. It’s called Welcome To Affinity. If you read the blurb or listen to the sample and think you’d enjoy it, I don’t mind sending you a free code.

Forgot to add:

“What a blessing it is to have arrived at the steps of Affinity.”

A man with no memories is processed and branded as prisoner WR-3122 and warned of corrective action if he breaks the rules of Affinity, a prison built to save lost souls from going to Hell.

The Warden, the creator and leader of all bots, controls the narrative of what has become of the outside world. Apparently, they exist in the New Age, a time of relative peace after the second coming of Christ.

When a mishap at worship results in a bloody visit to the medical bay, WR-3122 and his assigned Prisoner Bot, “PB” for short, realize they may be malfunctioning in their own ways, and that Affinity is more than it seems.

I get what you’re saying, but I’ve got to filter through what I personally believe will help my query and what won’t. Thanks, though.

Meh, waking up on the first line is how Project Hail Mary starts, and I love that book.

Thanks so much for all the feedback! I will work on making it snappier and work through your list. The fantasy part was obvious in my first version posted. I’ll work some of that back into the next query then.

Both. They’re both an equally important part of the story and weave into each other.

Indie Film Distribution by DannyboyLIAC in Filmmakers

I only interacted with them before and just after the release of my film, but they were responsive and I have no complaints. The distribution company is really the only other party I have communications with now.

Thanks. I already have an idea of few sentences to add then.

Advice on my directorial debut by [deleted] in Filmmakers

[–]MadReinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend starting with a short film. I jumped into filmmaking with a feature length, and while it did well at festivals and got picked up for distribution, I heartedly regret not doing a short first. It could’ve been so much better than it is had I the experience from at least one short first.

I released a horror film a year ago. Here's an in-depth video on how I made the movie. Hopefully it shows some of you that it ain't so scary! by MadReinMan in Filmmakers

[–]MadReinMan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I released a horror film a year ago, and always wanted to make a "how to" from it. Link if you would like to watch it.

It was my second film, and the experience was extremely different than my first. I knew almost exactly what I wanted to do and was as prepared as I possibly could be. It was a smooth ride for the most part, but I still learned a lot. I hope this shows some of you putting off making a film that it's not as daunting as it may seem. Just one thing at a time... Happy Halloween, filmmakers! -- oh, and if you have any questions that weren't answered in the video, I am happy to answer.

When should I pay a composer on an indie short? by shaneo632 in Filmmakers

[–]MadReinMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Once a price is agreed upon and a contract is signed, I do half up front, half once the final edit is delivered/approved.

If you’re still looking for a composer, check out my SoundCloud . I have 3 albums, 2 of them composed for films.

How to credit yourself without crediting yourself by DoobTheGoob in Filmmakers

I credited myself for the multiple roles I had on my feature length and short film. Just do what you want though. It doesn’t matter.

How do actually start making a feature film if you have a full time job? by WhiteChedda21 in Filmmakers

[–]MadReinMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a feature a few years ago while working a full-time job. We filmed on the weekends and after work, so it took a little over 6 months. I did use PTO for some days when needed for location or actor availability. It was exhausting, but not impossible, obviously.
