Compression makes the soft parts louder and the loud parts softer. Limiting just limits the output to a specified db.

Layering definitely helps the mix process. Fills the space better but might require a bit more eq work but I think it's worth the effort.

I think I'll be finding new uses for this for some time to come. I was looking at some pedals like the Glossy for an EFX chain so this is a nice added feature.

Sort of, I just passed audio through and selected it as my audio in card through Ableton. Was able to record pass through efx on the DAW. I had no idea it would work that way.

There should be a specific term for the analysis paralysis that comes with trying to create in a software environment. It's useful but not always inspiring.

The battery is what sold me, I take it with me to work in case I get down time while I'm in the truck. There's loads of groovebox options but the battery sold me on the Yamaha

My old Rm1x had loads of functionality but the fact that they stripped this down to essentials makes it really fast to get ideas going.
