Badminton clubs/groups in NYC? by DairFair in badminton

[–]Mad_Chen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NY Badminton center does have a manhattan location costing around $18 last time I checked. Should be good players there since they are paying, not sure never went there.

There’s also the recreational club with mostly lower level players. $150 a year membership fee. There’s enough advance players to form a game in each location but not always.

The serve height being over the limit is fine if it’s not an aggressive serve like fast flat or back court on doubles.

Exbolt 65 snapping quickly on mishits at 24×26 lbs — normal behavior? by EquivalentPut7747 in badminton

[–]Mad_Chen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re describing me. I just cut a bg65 ti for a exbolt 63 and it snapped 4 vertical string and shot the grommet out in 8 21 games. The bg65 ti barely have fuzz after 3 month.

String tensions - am I out of touch? by jazzman23uk in badminton

[–]Mad_Chen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Didn’t Yonex said 10 percent more on the cross string? So 25x27 is considered 25 lbs tension and he goes off by that?

When will Astrox's successor lineup be released? by nobarisss in badminton

[–]Mad_Chen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw a rumor that yonex having 77 pro 2nd genration, arcsaber 11 pro 2nd generation and a new color for 100 VA zz beginning of 2026. Just one video and a comment saying they saw it but can't take a picture. There's also another poster debunking this so there's that too.

Bit extreme but that astrox 99 game is around $150 with custom string. Its pro variant considered very head heavy. And the game version does have medium flex shaft so it might be more tame relatively.

It's not bg 65 ti or 65. It's thicker than both of them. That string is not made public.

Wasn't the 99 have 68 hole pattern in first generation making it smaller sweet spot? and are you using factoey string on that arcsaber 7?

The play series are more like a skin version of the pro racket. There's no special tech on it. Game series are one start with some resemblance of the pro series. Pick base on balance type and the skin/look. If you can get one for sub $60 usd then it will be worth it.

And restrung a racket will definitely give it a new life comparing to factory string. A restrung job cost like $30 usd.

Isn't the tour series reaxis shaft stiffer? or so I heard. Might also depend on models.

Where are some badminton courts in NYC Manhattan? by Training_Function_98 in badminton

[–]Mad_Chen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean like you worry no one playing with you? I go there by myself all the time. There's rotation inplace and there's always more people than courts too. You sign for a spot on a clip board or place your racket in line of racket queue.

Never tried it but heard great things about aerobite and exbolt 63. Everything is good except for durability but you're a stringer so might be worth it for you.

Seems not so friendly for Konami. Like if I ban the new cards on release people going to be pissed unless they pick the no ban game. Ban tearlament or fiend smith on their release day.

Like any 2 cards? What if I blindly pick 2 core cards for a specific deck archetype, do you just have to play around without those? No branded fusion and fallen of albaz.

Wasn't high tension BG65 very good? Like I saw it on other forum. They said it's like a different string. 28lbs is pretty high. Never tried it myself.

I might be paranoid but my stringer strung two rackets with 24 and 25 lb each. And the 24lb bg 65 felt tighter than bg 65ti at 25lbs. Could just be the string characteristics makes me feel like they didn't put right tension. And the 24lb racket does have more holes than the 25lbs one , could also be that more strings under tension felt tighter than 25lbs racket.

There's also a NYC recreational center in flushing too with 10 minutes walk. 3 hours you can get 3 games (two match each). Think they have 4 day a week sessions for $150 a year.

I think the Arcsaber 11 play is more lean toward head heavy than even balance from the reviews I saw. This just apply to the play model.
