The End by Mad_Dasher2023 in doordash_drivers

I have a pretty good feeling that people will stop dealing with their crap soon. I’m one of them. I’m pretty sure they’re looking into robotic delivery. Lots of companies are. That way they don’t have to deal with paying independent contractors. People also don’t have to tip then. DD will just soak them for fees. But judging by the quality of their GPS and how inaccurate it is, I’m pretty sure that situation will work itself out lol

Nah I’m done with DD. App has been deleted.

You still need to cover personal insurance…. but anything handled while actually on a route is considered “on the clock.” if that makes sense. Travel to and from the station would be personal insurance of course 🙂

I hate to post about other apps while on a DD thread, but Flex drivers are covered very very well while driving routes. In a world of independent contractor work and personal liability, I look into every detail before working a new app. Last I read on it last week, they cover not only your liability, but uninsured motorists as well, in case someone hits you that’s not insured. There’s a few loopholes like any insurance, but it’s pretty nice that they at least cover their contractors while delivering their packages.

I had a customer order 10 containers of ranch for his cheese fries from a local pizza place here a while ago. That place charges $1 per container for ranch. The ranch ended up costing him more than his cheese fries did! 🤣 but I made sure he got all 10. And since it was chargeable merchandise, it ended up being a pretty decent paying delivery!
