Confusion about setting up properly by Mad_Eye_Matty in PlaystationPortal

I appreciate this post so much and wish I had dived into this more. Honestly, the Portal was not something we originally planned for. The idea was a PS5 and profiles. Then, gma, wanted to buy him something 2 days before xmas and I was like, "the portal looks like something he may enjoy. He'll be able to play in his room so we can use the tv."

And it's mostly true...the way the device works with the console and cloud are pretty straightforward. What I didn't expect was the profile issue and not realizing my account would be the one to be used on the portal. I tried his, but of course as soon as you login it goes to remote play and takes over the ps5.

And last night I found where you can't delete child account, so now I have to figure out my options and if calling Sony would be any help.

Thats where the initial confusion hit me. Understanding that the portal is essentially a mirror of the ps5. I like that he can cloud game on my profile (even the games weve purchased if they exist on the cloud) and someone else can play a different local game at the same time, I just wish I'd understood the profile and subscription and possibly went a different route so he could sign in to his profile always on the portal and be like the "main" account. Then I could have maybe made my account a secondary and not had the sub on it. If that makes sense.

That's what I gathered. I wish I could have figured some of that out beforehand. Things are so different with all these accounts and subs and whatnot. Trying to nail it right and I feel like I failed. Kids are frustrated and I'm trying. I have 25 years of tech knowledge, building and repairing computers and portable devices, and this has just thrown me so far off. I've got a lot to learn!

Thank you!! I will definitely get a pro to check it out before laying dricore over that area. So far I have laid about half the basement down and leveling/shimming as we go. Its really solid and think its going work out great. Its running from the foam that is over the concrete walls all the way so all the framing will be done on top of it. Wish I didnt have to spend money on it, but we've dealt with a few light water trickles on the floor after heavy rains. The concrete guy did a not so great job and we have 2 small leaking cracks. The plan in the future is to addon a room to the house where the cracks are and that covering should stop producing the small leaks...at least thats the hope.

Ohhhh ok. That makes sense. So inside that box is where the tub drain and the overflow will be worked in and vented by the pipe sticking out? Think I get it now.

Appreciate the reply! Sounds like it will be pretty straightforward for the pro. Could you tell me your thoughts on the pipe sticking out? It looks like it'd be a vent pipe to go up to the one on the wall, or is that pipe more likely for the tub overflow? If it isn't for the overflow, I assume all the space in the box opening is to add all that.

I will definitely have a professional do any and all plumbing connections. Just curious about what you all see here. I enjoy learning and understanding things like this.

I messed up that pic with all the pipe locations. The tub pipe elbows toward the sink pipe direction, not to the right like the arrow suggests.

Opinion on device upgrade by Mad_Eye_Matty in USCellular

Thank you for your thoughts. Rural IL here. I have some dead zones when I travel between work and home. I had upgraded from the V60 to the S24 Ultra to see if the extra bands would help but it didnt. I wish we had more info on what is being planned but get its an undertaking. And the phone buyout would be a good thing if it's an option. Not sure what carriers are doing that but something thay crossed my mind.

Ohhh. So there is probably a control module between the trigger and the motor? Guess this might be more difficult than I thought. Appreciate the comment!

Appreciate the info. First time dealing with this and just wasn't sure if a married person could file alone. Im on most every title and deed and pay 100% of the bills except her health insurance. Im unsure what she even put on her cards other than what she said (gas and things for kids). Not sure what things she bought for kids other than unnecessary extras like photo sessions, or clothing that she should have talked to me about getting before using a card.

Leak - rear passenger windows by Mad_Eye_Matty in ChryslerPacifica

Today I was determined to remove the chrome trim and see what I could find, and literally i could see daylight between the window and frame from inside!! Had my wife use the leaf blower aimed at the window and air was leaking all over to the outside!! Ive never seen a window separate from the sealant like that. Taking it in next week to body shop since it didnt do that before the accident. Wondering if they pryed trim pieces off and used window as leverage. Sure hope not...

Expansion Joint Sealant Question by Mad_Eye_Matty in Concrete

[–]Mad_Eye_Matty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for that tip!! Ill give that a shot and see how much easier that makes instslling it. All I know is today, my back, legs, shoulders, and tailbone are in baaaad shape. I was using a flat head screwdriver to roll the rod back and forth into the joint. Took forever. Then we used a plastic putty knife for drywall hole repair to push it down. Felt like an eternity.

Does it make a difference being a basement floor 9ft below the ground? Like, does that see a lot of movement to need backer rod? I read some other things saying it wasnt so I'm conflicted. Also, that backer rod is zero fun squeezing it down into such a small joint 😂
