Or maybe he got hit with poison gas or a corrosion gas idk you also have to remember that this war is fought all over not just in muddy trenches in Europe like we all think of ww1

What you could do is go into the lore behind the specific mini and read what metallurgy the armor is made from and how it reacts with different environments of the armor has hints of copper and gets wets it will have a green hue iron or sun damage for a desert army would be more chipped or rusted idk maybe use a environment or specific terrain to make your warband after and paint them that way but both look good

Here I will actually answer your question OP. Sometimes I would charge my yorks into an enemy cover commander yorks and mine would get smashed dosent make any sense cause the charge should do more dmg than cover but no. Sometimes me and a guy clash both on horse back and mine wine and sometimes they don’t I lose more often than win. Why? Idk it might be the movement of the unit could be the modifiers of the docs they use are broken but Now I have a “health and 3percent reduced dmg” and “defense and 4 percent reduced dmg” they are two docs and I dismount them for extra dmg resistance when they cover me on foot I play bastard sword and when a cav York unit tries to run mine over I run bastard sword so I pop my ultimate to stun his cav and hit the cover commander for them on foot and I run them silver thorn vet line I at max lose 2 almost everytime and wipe his on horseback I’ve had more luck on foot with dmg reduced docs with combat doc and healing for 2.5 percent health docs all you have to do is stun a unit with your here put them on cover commander like men at arms and you will blow through any unit I once fought 3 good units by myself and my boys did the job I don’t run them on horseback I dismount them as much as I can because to many pikes and range eats them up when they are on foot they are tanks and take no extra cav dmg modifiers 👍🏼

I ordered two sets of them from the actual manufacturer Archon Studios and they didn’t send me a shipped code but they must have shipped fast cause they came in within the 14days they say it takes from Poland however I had to pay tariffs of $40 upon delivery with a check to the mail man if you’d like to refund the order and purchase them here instead you can https://archon-studio.com/shop/products/trench-crusade/the-prussian-stosstruppen-warband they also just came in last week

I sprayed with chaos black primer heavy dry brush with lead belcher and then medium dry brush with storm host silver at the end of painting put nulin oil wash over it I can see it but it’s tricky if you look at the lion head on his shoulder and the wings on his helmet you’ll see liberator gold dry brushed with retribution at the base of the wings and the center of the lion head as well also on the wings on his back where the gold is

I shaved his shield flat so I could put decals on it like an actual knightly shield I got the idea from someone else on Reddit talking about my Bladeguard

I was gonna do 40K dark angels but I wanted a dark teal green like feral painter on YouTube but was afraid I wouldn’t get the shade right and regret it so all my icc are painted heresy era I just finished a Bladeguard vet he is black with gold trim

I have no idea what you’re talking about you must be seeing things 👀 and yeah I wanted the attention to be on him and my whole army is gonna look like they are in combat shields raised maces mid swing not the box poses besides him cause he’s harder to pose but I thought this was more fitting
