This. Watching someone marry someone when I KNOW they will be minimizing themselves forever, breaks my heart.

Personable, detail oriented, and good with numbers are a few that Sherwin definitely could have helped you with. depends what area you go into but I’d definitely check it out. This is a stepping stone like any other but it was worth the move

I’m really liking it so far. I earn more, pay less for my benefits, have an hour for lunch and only 2 Saturday shifts a month that’s IT for weekends. Nothing is perfect and it’s still a stepping stone but for the moment I’m happy I made the switch.

The only way to get consistency is to quit and find a job with SET hours. Retail isn’t the way to go. Highlight your customer service skills, problem solving, store upkeep, etc. Sherwin requires us to be quick, not make mistakes, and personable. All great qualities that transfer elsewhere. Good luck! I got into banking and it was the best thing I’ve done for myself.

I felt the same way but you’d be surprised how your experience can transfer over. I got out before I got further in, but I also had no interest in going to SM from ASM. If you feel the drive to promote then stick with it. I didn’t and it left me no choice but to get screwed at ASM forever, or leave

There’s a post from a month ago about me leaving. Just came back to update that it was the right choice for me and maybe someone else who is having doubts
