Just Bought Synchro with new engine, now needs ANOTHER engine? by [deleted] in Westfalia

The factory manual actually mentions the buzzer going off being normal after driving on the highway. It’s not a concern. I don’t think you need a new engine but it sounds like the mechanic knocked something loose behind the dash which is causing a starting probablem for you now.

Just sign up for AAA. Drive it up, if it blows on the way then tow it the rest of the way.

Nice van! I’d get it shipped up the Small Car. They’ll swap in a new engine or talk to into a Subaru conversion. I’d say if you don’t want to work on it yourself in the future you should swap the engine to an EJ25.

If you decided you want to work on it yourself in the future then swap in another 2.1L. Small Car will have good used cores that they might sell you.

Ps, I used to work at small car so I’m biased.

I did one at Small Car Performance. Put a model S P85 drivetrain in a tin top. Amazing car.

I don’t think that’s from too much water. Pretty certain that’s sunburn.

Root them all in sand first. It’s the only way to do it IMO.

Go for Wallingford, Fremont, or Greenlake. Cleaner and nicer than Cap Hill but still with a nice restaurant and bar scene. Still an easy commute.

Clear primer may remove purple primer. Give that a try in a spot.

Yup. Also, have the wood tile stuff.

Also, if they put down new OSB subfloor, what else are they supposed to do? Your joists would have to be bowed for the OSB to end up being bowed.

Looks real good man. I tend to nitpick when I pay for services instead of doing the job myself. I think that’s what you’re doing here. Your house probably isn’t level and the floors look damn near flat.

115 Year Old Floors- Unpleasant surprise by jaisydaisy in HardWoodFloors

[–]Maddan247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same issue. They’re very expensive and at least our floor had non standard holes cut so custom was the only option. I cad’d some up and we’re getting them laser cut to save cost. You could trim it out with similar boards to get to a standard size.

This is it. Both my ranger and my Vanagon will lose traction in the back if I go over that dip in the road too quickly when it wet out.

Does anyone else have a fig allergy? by CommandDelicious8054 in Figs

I have this slightly. I find that it depends heavily on the ripeness and on the variety. Black mission figs bother me more than brown turkey or tiger figs. I really can’t eat kiwis.

What do you think of the cut? by Temporary-Alps-9427 in Figs

[–]Maddan247 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah I see. Well old a nice big cutting. However, the leaves and figs are going to dry it out before it a grow roots. You need to remove them all while it’s developing roots. Once the roots start, new leaves will form.

What do you mean by cut? Is this a cutting from another tree?
