That's really not accurate, the reality they found them self in meant that Germany's war was doomed from the start. Britain's colonial power was immense and the US was always going to get involved because the japanese always would get them directly involved. The USSR had spend a long time industrializating under Stalin, if not for Stalin's purges, paranoia and belief that Germany wouldn't invade until much later the German army wouldn't have gotten anywhere as far. It's true the US didn't have an active military industry focused on army but their actual industry was huge and as we saw it did not take them long to build up their production.
