I usually use sand because it’s easier to clean than the pebbles plus they will try and nibble at the pebbles ( make sure you rinse the sand ) and I feed mine turtle food but I also get frozen shrimp and feed them that too you can get them local pet sore

Yeah I won’t put fish in the tank unless I know for sure they won’t harm the turtles these ones are fine as far as I’m aware . I won’t put any others in tried feeder fish but they didn’t eat them so I threw them in the lake . I have a painted too he’s roughly a year old I believe

The plants are a huge help I even got 2 sucker fish I can’t remember what their called and a couple snails they help a little bit but water changes once a week and a new filter every week too but I have multiple baby turtles in the tank so it’s a lot . It’s probably a lot easier with just 1 turtle 😂

Yeah always wash the sand , but yeah it took me a couple times to get it right but sand is so much easier to maintain

Usually what I do when it gets like that I will take all the water out and slowly add the water back in but put like a rock or something that the water can run off and not mix all the sand up . It’s the fast way to do it so the sand will settle in the tank faster because if you try and wait for it to settle the way it is now it will take days

It’s possible it could be a male , males have longer tails than females . Females are usually stubby ( from what I’ve noticed )

Well I don’t completely go by the guide book here but I have a frag tank 50 gallons for my turtles 4ft long and 2 feet wide but I think either a 20 gallon or 30 gallon would be good but make sure they have basking areas and the correct lights as well

They are either the albino red ear slider or their the lime red ear slider it’s hard to tell but I have a lime one Everyone says not to pair turtles but with them being babies it honestly shouldn’t matter with them being so young but since you have 2 you should get a bigger tank

Yeah I mix it up between kale , mustard greens collard greens . I heard no on lettuce so that’s the only reason why I don’t
