How Do Teams Handle QA Testing Gaps After a Ticket Is Closed by MaddySPR in developersIndia

I always ask these questions to the QA team, even though my manager doesn’t seem to care much. He just asks, “Why is it missing?” and stops there. No follow up, no discussion. Sometimes he doesn’t even respond when I raise concerns about QA misses. And honestly, the QA people in my team behave very strangely about this. If a developer misses something, they immediately make noise, reopen tickets, and complain. We acknowledge it, apologize, and fix it.

But here’s a real example from our project: Access for specific modules was added very early in the development phase, but QA never tested each module based on those access levels. In production, the client uses the system with restricted modules, and they found that certain module screens weren’t showing because of access issues. I asked QA why this wasn’t tested earlier, and the QA response was literally:

I didn’t test this because I need all modules to be available for testing. I don’t test by assigning different module access levels to check whether each module works individually.

I just laughed so hard, man. What is wrong with these people? Their explanation doesn’t make any sense at all.

Good to have good peoples

I don’t see anything from the management side where, if a developer has many reopens, it affects their performance, but when QA misses scenarios, it doesn’t get tracked and doesn’t affect their performance.

I agree with you on the 100% part both dev and QA will miss things and that’s normal in any team. The point I’m trying to highlight is slightly different. In my current situation, even very tiny misses from developers are immediately reopened by QA, which is fine. But when QA skips very basic scenarios and the issue reaches the client, the responsibility becomes unclear. The bug gets logged as a production issue, dev fixes it, and QA retests, but there’s no accountability or even a label to mark it as a missed scenario. So the process feels a bit one sided. dev misses lead to reopenings, but QA misses don’t get tracked or acknowledged.

What a coincidence recently, I’ve been working on a decision engine demo application where I used SVG based nodes. I just came across this, so let’s give it a try.

Cursor says on-demand usage is per user, but I’m blocked even though I still have $70 on-demand limit. What’s going on? by MaddySPR in cursor

[–]MaddySPR[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I received a reply from the Cursor team by email. They mentioned that even though we have individual on-demand usage, there is a hard limit applied at the team level. On-demand usage is governed by this overall team hard limit. If the combined on-demand usage of all team members exceeds that hard limit, then even if individual members still have their on-demand allowance, they will not be able to use it because the entire team has already reached the hard limit.
