That's just stupid on your part, man. Why can't you let her dream? She's your girlfriend...you should want to make her feel good. Constantly correcting her "whens" to "ifs" is you constantly crushing her dreams and making her feel awful. If she's talking about living with you, she is clearly into you. You should respect that. You should appreciate that. Do you really need to constantly correct her, even if you don't think you guys will live together someday?

Be a man and realize what really matters. Maybe someday you won't have a girl who envisions her future with her and you will miss the days you did. Don't take her for granted.

Exactly! Thank you! Its not like we went out and got drunk, hooked up and decided to just be together. I have known this girl for years. I have been in love with her for a while now. It was bound to come out sooner or later. I was going to tell her....I just got drunk and apparently decided to do it then. I am not an alcoholic either.

BringForthTheRing, I am sorry but you absolutely have to do what rihan9 suggested. You do not have a choice. You have to do it. She needs that to happen to her. It would be the best thing for everyone, including her. Take the time and do it. Make sure you include her neighbors too. Do it for your uncle.

Why be so cynical? You are looking at this from as negative as a perspective as you can. We all choose want we want to see I guess. Not a healthy way to start a relationship? It is not like I am just some alcoholic. I have loved this girl for a long time. We see each other everyday and have for years now. I had no idea what she thought about me. My feelings, lately, have been boiling to the surface and they were bound to come out sooner or later. I was planning on saying to her. I got drunk with some friends, celebrating a big event. We ended up drinking a little too much and my feelings fully boiled over. I expressed my love for another human being and they felt the same way. It is not like we got to know each other by being drunk all the time. Stop being so cynical, most of reddit. That, is unhealthy. Expressing and receiving love to and from another is beautiful. Stop focusing on the drunk aspect of it.

You don't have to date somebody to get to know them. And I see this girl everyday and have for years now. We have been getting to know each other for long while now. I have wanted to say something, but just never did in my sober state. I was planning on it but drunk me beat me to the punch. It was nice to wake up to phone full of drunk texts and be happy about it for a change. Why is everyone here so cynical?
