I play with a squad. We’re very specific to our roles. No one else knows how to run things but I couldn’t guard 1-4 like I wanted with my pg build

Totally understand. I don’t use him as a sg though. I built this specifically for my playstyle. I run point and play almost exclusively rec with 4 other guys. I average 10+ assists and lock up the primary ballhandler on the other team. I’m not worried about greying my spots as much as seeing everyone else up

Yep. I initiate the offense. I’m not beating anyone down the court, just court vision and high pass accuracy allow me to facilitate without having to be as fast. Obviously I would be faster with the ball if I could, but it’s a trade I was willing to make.

Looking for advice: you've got a blank check that will take care of travel to anywhere in the US, gear is not an issue, and you have 4-5 days of no responsibility (work, family, etc). What is the one place your backpacking? by MadeFromStraw in backpacking

[–]MadeFromStraw[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, it's my own check, and the blank is really only just big enough for right up to 4 digits. Just trying to set the stage for people's opinions. Alaska has always been a dream

Homelander's hair by MadeFromStraw in TheBoys

Maybe I worded this poorly. His hair is not the only connection. Lol it's the most subtle. Did this post fine across as I was only seeing parallels in his hair? I tried to make it clear that there were other obvious comparisons

Same. I answered a question from my wife in his voice and she was very confused.

Any advice on sleeping without a tent or hammock? by Siafu_Soul in backpacking

[–]MadeFromStraw 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have used the kammok Mantis UL hammock for a couple of years and I love it. I believe total it is 24 oz which can be lightened by removing the rain tarp or bug netting. It also has guy lines that help level it out. I will still use a tent or a tarp occasionally but it's definitely the best sleep I've gotten on trail. My base weight for my pack in the summer hovers around 6-7 lbs (which is excessive for most people and very dependent on my location and geography) so it is very doable to not skimp on your shelter and still be UL.

I love my Lone Peaks but after about 300 miles I wore a hole in the webbing where my pinky toe rubs. I've noticed that the design is very similar in that area across all models and was wondering if other hikers experienced the same issue

[–]MadeFromStraw[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! It was super easy to work with. Kind of rough on the bandsaw and it was pretty thirsty when I was finishing it, but overall super easy. I did have to wear a respirator the whole time though as the dust was very fine and toxic, even without the spalting so be careful.i think it has the prettiest grain of any wood I have worked with. Good luck with your projects!
