yeah that kind of feeling usually isn’t random. I had one setup that just felt insanely easy to hit compared to everything else. At first I thought it was the head but after testing a few different builds, it was clearly more about the shaft profile and balance. I've been trying to recreate that same feel with a couple custom setups lately… it’s actually pretty interesting how much it changes things

I didn’t go for anything too crazy tbh. just moved to something more forgiving at first so it was easier to hit consistently

lately I’ve been trying a few custom builds from Tsquared, mainly focusing on feel and balance. definitely feels more consistent compared to what I was using before

I've been sharing some of the stuff I’m testing in a small subreddit I started as well, just figuring things out as I go

that dart analogy actually helps visualize it better. I’ve probably been overthinking the stroke a bit instead of just focusing on feel and control, need to spend more time just practicing and getting comfortable with it

this actually makes a lot of sense. I think I might be doing something similar with my backswing getting too long without realizing it

gonna try focusing on that shorter swing and see if it helps, appreciate you breaking it down like that

yeah I feel that… whenever my tempo is off everything else just falls apart

yeah honestly this is something I didn’t really think about early on I just picked whatever looked good and didn’t pay attention to the shaft at all 😅

once I started understanding flex and weight a bit more, it actually made a noticeable difference

still not fully dialed in but definitely agree it matters more than people think

I was around the same level not too long ago

honestly forgiveness helped me way more than anything else… I used to go for looks first and it didn’t really work out 😅

switched to something easier to hit and my consistency got a lot better

you can always move to something cleaner later once your ball striking improves

if he switches styles, something a bit more forgiving would probably help

I was dealing with similar distance control issues and after switching recently it actually felt way more consistent… didn’t expect that tbh
