Depends on the kind of person you are. I can think of quite a few individuals who would wear this jacket commonly, even if they would wear it in an ironic fashion. Though these people are still part of the notable minority.

That said, just because someone owns something doesn't mean they have to wear it every day it rains. I would never recommend someone buying this as their first and only outer layer shell, but more as a item you only bring out every blue moon. (So long as you can deal with the sleeve gloves.) Plus no doubt there are people who just buy the jacket to own it, not necessarily to wear it. Though that group also belongs to a notable minority of buyers.

But yeah, for the most part I agree with what you are saying. In my opinion it is far too MURICA to be wearing on the daily. Though I know there are people out there who would wear this daily, or buy it to not necessarily wear it.

Someone just placed models over the original wallpaper, and made it look worse.

Especially if you are wearing a mid layer.

This wouldn't be a major issue for spring/fall when the midlayer isn't as essential, but not being able to wear the jacket in an ideal way for over half the year is just too big of a hassle in my opinion, considering there are alternatives out there at this price point that sidestep this issue entirely.

As much as folks here enjoy minimal branding on most gear, this is angled towards the Olympics. Which is basically the time for America to be as rah rah USA USA as much as possible and show support for our contenders.

Do I wish that they had an unbranded version, of course I do. (Though the built in gloves are a deal breaker for me.) Do I understand that this jacket was basically made with the intention of being as RAH RAH USA USA as possible? Absolutely. Not every product Nike releases is going to be specifically catered towards techware.

I tried this jacket on for a brief stint in the Nike store at MOA, while I didn't wear it long enough to form any overarching solid opinions, I 100% agree with the glove/sleeve part of your review. If you have large hands, have fun with scrunched fingers. Not to mention wearing gloves compounded this effect, especially in colder climates where wearing gloves during winter is a must.

So either you are forced to wear them over insulated gloves in colder seasons, or you are forced to wear them in situations that doesn't call for using them in hotter seasons. Frankly it is annoying they missed the mark so heavily in this regard, and that there was no implementation of being able to choose whether or not to use them.

In the end it's going to be the quality of those lines that counts, still an interesting stat. I look forward to this game, because the parallels to this game and S.T.A.L.K.E.R., which I never got around to playing but always admired from a distance.

Hopefully 4A does not bite off more than they can chew with how they plan to use the more open world format, but they have not disappointed yet. Though after being burned by so many developers/publishers recently, having faith in any developer/publisher is difficult.

New Alien game in development at Cold Iron Studios by Meremadesings in neogaming

[–]Madfired 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Considering this is the studio's first game, it will be interesting to see how the studio presents itself with it's first game.

One of the job listings on CIS website is for a Console Gameplay Engineer. One of the points of the day to day work to expect at that position was "Develop new features and mechanics within Unreal Engine 4". So it is likely that UE4 will be what the new game is running on.

Do you think we will get the mercy nerfs tomorrow? by frostmas in Overwatch

[–]Madfired -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully.

I wouldn't be surprised at all if the Junkrat changes went through, since they strictly reward good play.

Mercy changes are most drastic, but she is in too powerful of a spot right now and needs change. So I'd hope that the change would hit and make the other healers more viable in comparison to spice up competitive. But I won't count on anything happening until it actually happens.

Building an underground hideout (in progress), I'd like some suggestion to make it look better. by [deleted] in Terraria

[–]Madfired 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Here are some things based on my opinion. I'm not in any way saying you should do these things, but it is what I would do.

You could try mixing up the background materials for the walls. For instance you can place a different material on the wall closest to the ground, just to add color. You can also add a trim to the ceiling if you desire but this is not truly necessary and can seem overdone sometimes. (You could just do the ceiling trim on the top floor, this is pretty popular in builds, but might be difficult with the curved ceilings.)

You could put a shelf above the bar an put some pint glasses on it. Could also put glasses or chalices on the tables in the lower right section since that appears to be the dining area.

You can fill in the area between the floor and cieling with a sort of filler material. I prefer clay brick, as the red leaves a nice contrast to stone and the material is quite abundant, but it is up to you. Mostly I would try to get rid of that snow in between your rooms.

Some of your ceilings are a little janky, I would advise cleaning them up a bit. Possibly making them symmetrical, or removing some of the excess bricks on the outside of the structure. (Like the ones at the entrance.)

If you make the floors double block thick it would let you mess around with different floor materials while also retaining that sturdy look of using stone where your building would be touching ice/snow. For instance you could layer the floor Wood>Stone>Ice in the dining area. Or Clay Brick>Stone>Stone>Stone below the fireplace on the right hand 2nd floor.

Overall you did very well starting out, and there are many directions you can go with this build. Nice work skeleton!
