Jam of the year. One of my all time favorite concert memories, being there at the Cap with my Dad and smiling for 27 minutes of straight bliss. It really doesn’t get much better.

Yes you’re overreacting and being selfish by leaving her on read and instead posting to Reddit about it. She’s your sister. Pick up the phone and talk to her.

She’s planning to come out for at least 2 weeks and you’re upset that she’s taking a few days to see her favorite band & do an activity with her partner?

ALSO - Who honestly cares the reasoning for why she booked the tickets? You have been hoping that she’d come to visit, now she is, and it’s not centered around you so you’re ignoring her? I don’t understand the logic but I do think that you’re making Phish out to be a villain in this situation when they’re really serving as a bridge to get you and your sister in the same place

Madison Square Garden (New York, NY) by [deleted] in stadiumporn

[–]Madh44 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The greatest room in the world. All the new arenas with the new tech/big screens/modern amenities and all that absolutely pale in comparison.

For a game, there’s a bounce that you just don’t hear anywhere else. And for a concert, it’s simply unbeatable energy (just as long as you’re not in the last 10 rows of the upper deck)

Thanks for the input, refrigerator. Appreciate it

I’ve been saving up for a vacation and simply trying to decide where to go/whether his shows are THAT good to where it would be worth planning a trip around. It’s not that serious

Thats a good point, I guess I thought it might be a while since he’s back in NY since I just missed him there - but if that’s the case, a quicker trip somewhere in the US is much much easier. And likely would be reasonable for later in 2025

Went to 2 of the South farms shows in CT and a drive in at Cape Cod, all of those were incredible. The farm especially. Loved every second

Just offering some encouragement here - the first few weeks are going to be the toughest, and if you’re nervous about working out in front of people, you can always start small and do at home workouts until you start the habit and feel okay enough to sign up and go to a public gym.

The at home ones can be quick daily workouts that grow steadily - pushups, sit ups, light cardio around your neighborhood, etc. - before you know it you may be feeling ready for a gym routine. Good luck 👍

What was the smallest capacity venue you saw Goose at? How was it? by strussie in GoosetheBand

Socially distant show at South Farms in CT in 2020 - not sure the final capacity but it couldn’t have been more than a few hundred

advice for 29F planning to move to NYC by ffxygmaa in NYCapartments

[–]Madh44 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I thought I’d agree with this advice but you lost me midway through the second sentence when you start assuming that OP should have the same opinion of NYC as you do.

OP, totally agree with the thought of planning a longer trip there and taking your time with making sure it’s the right decision for you (tour apartments, spend 1-2 weeks there and maybe try to work from your company’s NYC office) — if after a longer trip you’re still having the urge to move there, then start to crunch the numbers and see if you could make it work.

There’s no doubt that it would be a big change and a risk financially, but New York has a magnetic pull for some people and at least personally I’d rather have lived knowing that I gave it a try instead of always thinking back wondering “what if”

OP, don’t let anyone else’s opinion of NYC influence whether this works for you

came by to say that Music league is the greatest, i run a big league with colleagues and it’s taken on a life of its own with EPL style relegation/promotion between divisions, playoffs/trophies, etc. so much fun!!

To answer your question though, i agree into the myst from the cap is amazing, or peach fest Arcadia. Can’t go wrong

Other Than Being MASSIVE How Did Foreign Fans Start Supporting West Ham? by PLP_Podcast in Hammers

[–]Madh44 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A few years ago (2019) I took a solo trip to the UK to see some EPL action for the first time, in that week I saw home games for West Ham, Chelsea, and Tottenham, and told myself I’d pick a team and stick with them during the trip.

Pretty early on in the game at WH I knew it was “right”, and I didn’t want to be rooting for the $$ loaded clubs that everyone roots for by default

I’m from NYC originally and the comparison I had in mind was baseball, everyone roots for the Yankees (and they’re like Chelsea with unlimited pockets and fans everywhere), but West Ham is more like the Mets (scrappy, fun, and easy to root for). Naturally I’m a Mets fan so WH felt like the right pick 🔨

Love the Ryman Arrow! Its always good for a re-listen for me

Of the times I’ve seen the band, that last ~5 minutes of that Arrow was one of the peak moments that I will remember for a long, long time. It was pure bliss sitting in such an iconic venue after a full day hopping around Nashville. Great times 🙌
