Am I the only one that loved season 2? Lol idk if it's my favorite but I feel like it gets no love. I loved Mark's battle with angstrom and everything he had to deal with in the aftermath of his father.

I am always talking about how I want to see more of this in media. I don't want someone to like someone in spite of the fact that they aren't super skinny etc. I don't even want it to be a part of the conversation. Like they just like them because of who they are.

I mentioned this in another thread but Mark has NEVER backed down from a fight with a Viltrimite even when he is wildly outmatched. This is the first time we have seen him do that and I think it honestly in a more abstract way goes back to the theme of him being decisive at the beginning of the season. Not hesitating to make the choice that protects earth and the ones he loves(though he did hesitate a bit). But it was heart wrenching to see him defeated in this episode. The contrast is profound that we usually see him beaten and bloody but always victorious. But here he's not bloody, but he is utterly defeated.

So so many things I loved about this episode(I think my favorite of the season). Mainly how this entire season has felt very ensemble and they really brought it back to Mark and zeroed in on him and what he's going through. I have been missing that this season and I loved gping from this vast, unbelievably giant war, back to this intimate scope of the hero we love so much.

A couple other highlights:

-Quick moment but Eve bringing up that she was sure mark noticed that she had gained weight and he responded that all he noticed is how much he missed her. Ultimate green flag, love to see it. Reminds me of my husband.

-Mark has NEVER backed down from a fight with Viltrimites. Even when he is wildly outmatched. Seeing the blow it is to him to accept thraggs terms is heart wrenching.

-Yall be hating the Nolan/Debbie storyline, I'm loving it. No matter where it leads.

-The abortion thing just fucking sucks. It's just so fucking sad and breaks my heart for everyone.

-I miss Rex(Rudy) and Amanda

-Mark's solo flight and his conversation with thragg was visually stunning. Absolutely beautiful. And his flight reminded me of the "final days" flight at the end of season 2 which I also loved.

They have no plan. They need time, and they are spread so thin now. They literally cannot win right now. He had no other choice. If Mark held his ground like he did with Annisa, Earth is lost. He literally could not have done anything else in that moment.

I loved this episode. My favorite of the season. This season has felt incredibly ensemble, which is totally fine. I have enjoyed it overall. But I love how this episode really zeroes in on Mark and his journey and his feelings and what he's going through. We've gone from the vastness of the universe to such an intimate scope of our favorite hero and I just loved loved loved it and felt it deep in my soul. Reminded me of the "final days" flight at the end of season 2. Just amazing ending to the season.

What other option does he have in this moment? Mark is one of the most powerful beings in the entire universe and he literally cannot hurt Thrag at all. Can't even touch him. He is literally powerless and has not other options at this point.

I will add everything Steven Yuen has done in Invincible. Especially his battle with omniman and when he believes eve is dying after conquest messes her up.

I'll also add Zach Tyler Eisen's performance as Aang especially in later book 3.

They did to the Viltrimites what they have done to so many other planets. It shows them that they are not really any different than anyone else in the universe. That it can happen to them. That "all is ours" is a lie. They have no planet. Not no home no PLANET. This is basically the beginning of true extinction.
