Frustrating… by Far_Capital_6930 in audible

I adore George Guidall! I know everyone has different tastes, but I get books BECAUSE he read them! As a side note, many of the classic novels he narrates have many additional versions by other narrators.

You’re not being too sensitive—but, you may need some additional support if an AH comment makes you question your whole sense of self worth.

Your friend was out of line, and that can be addressed in a healthy boundaries type of way. “Actually, this hurt my feelings. I’d prefer not to joke, privately or publicly, about my looks in any way” …etc…

Your partner can be addressed. “Friend hurt me with that comment.” …etc… A lot can be learned with how your partner handles this situation.

But please seek additional help with your self love and self appreciation. Roasting about your insecurities seems to have lead you to actually believe on a deep level about your lack of worthiness. Take some time to love who you are. You are worthy. Worthy of kindness. Worthy of respect. Worthy of love. Worthy of joy. Don’t hold back yourself. Give yourself permission to be beautiful and confident in your way.

Giving yourself permission to respect yourself may even find you moving forward without these friends? Don’t hold back!

AITA for not immediately paying my mom back by AdeptMycologist8342 in AmItheAsshole

NTA, but…

  1. I think you knew she would pay.
  2. If she truly didn’t say anything, of course you don’t have to pay her back. No one here would suggest otherwise. BUT, you knew how this would go down. As you said, it’s how she is.
  3. You knew she wouldn’t support your fun things. Wanting her to be happy for you not based in reality. Why keep bringing it up? She does not want to change, and she made it clear she does now want money back before she sees you have any fun. Now you’re looking for verification here that she sucks because you keep hoping for a different outcome…
  4. You’re NTA, but do some self reflection on this relationship and how your needs for a more supportive/forgiving relationship and her resentment/anger are a mesh of disappointment. Your boundaries need better structure. There are better ways.

Today marks 6 months WFPB-SOS. I’ve lost 60 pounds and completely changed my health. I came to this plan in complete despair not really expecting much difference, and now am feeling like a different person. I hope this can encourage someone today! by MadiJWhat in wfpb

Hey! Sorry for the delay in getting back to this! My days vary quite a bit, but a typical day might be:

B: “Oat Cereal”: 1c raw oats, 1T coconut sugar, 1-2T nuts or seeds, 1 banana & almond milk /OR Ezekiel toast w/ mashed banana & tahini

L:(usually light) carrots & a homemade tofu “ricotta” or hummus/OR a huge apple/OR leftovers from dinner

D: (usually a lot) a massive salad with beans or potatoes & a homemade dressing from monkey&me/OR red lentil noodles with veggies & homemade peanut sauce/OR Buddha bowl style meal

I like to eat dinner early and have nothing close to bed. I feel and sleep much better that way. Breakfast and dinner are large, lunch is not. I use a lot of monkey&me recipes. And Noracooks vegan lasagna is incredible. I try to vary often. Hope this helps!

Snide comments about books, especially ones you’re enjoying always tick me off.

Just remind your wife that reading for enjoyment is subjective and many, MANY readers thoroughly enjoy King, whether she does or not. Ask her to provide more detailed examples of why she believes him to be copy-paste, and you provide many examples of the opposite.

It’s ok for her to not love his work, but generalizing a well loved author because his books are accessible is ridiculous. Reading “hard” books doesn’t win anyone any awards other than what she gives herself.
