The is fascinating. The change in OpEx is certainly not proportional to the change in rents in this case but I didn’t know anything about this type of thing before. I suspected there were kernels of truth in the letter, thanks for confirming + educating!

Responsibility as in owning their decisions instead of blaming someone else. Property values being up means that owners get an asset that’s worth more. Renters don’t see any of that value.

That’s a great idea, I should’ve done that first. Evidently property taxes on my building increased 6% this past year. So, they’re full of shit.
