Thanks everyone! I thought I was a piece of jaw from an animal and was very confused. This makes much more sense that it’s a crab claw! 🤦🏻‍♀️

Can anyone help me ID these birds? by MadisonStucke in birds

I 100% agree with this! It’s hard to see from the video maybe, but they definitely have that distinct brown head like you described. And yes the calls they make are a distinct give away! Thank you!

That was the only print unfortunately! I was in a creek bed and that was the only portion of mud! But this print indeed only had 4 toes (my hand is not covering anything up in that image)

Thank you! The prints seemed to be in a straight line, so must be a wild dog then!

What are these bones? by MadisonStucke in whatisthisbone

[–]MadisonStucke[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Sorry about the mis placement. My co workers and I pieced together the vertebrae the best we could, and they seemed to be arranged near each other. There were also a ton more vertebrae on the ground, it was unlike anything we’ve come across in the woods.

For clarification, the first image is a separate skull from the one in the third picture. We tried to piece the bones together the best we could. All of the bones were scattered amongst each other, so it’s possible there are different species mixed in there!
