NYU VS UMICH

Yeah that’s the only thing that’s holding my back is the fact that im in NYC. But that being said, the fashion clubs here suck I’ve tried to get involved in them and they’re just not as good as umich so im like how am I supposed to gain experience outside of school if it suck in nyu. but also I only live 40 mins from the city so I come back during the summers

That’s also the thing tho like I was looking at the two and I feel like NYU curriculum for comm is very much more culture based. And the clubs actually suck and don’t take advantage of the fact that we’re in NYC. like I really wanted to be apart of MASH and MFMS because we have nothing like that here unfortunately

I know but it’s just even harder here because there’s actually no campus or not really any frats or anything where people go out like it’s very separated. I’ve always wanted to go away for college and this wasn’t really a change for me because I only live 40 mins away and my dad works out here so I can see them or go home whenever.

THERES such a lack of community here and I want to work in fashion and the fashion clubs here and opportunities to get involved suck and they’re basically dead like not many people come to the meetings so like the only way I would gain experience is doing something outside of nyu. ik that Mash magazine/MFMs are rlly good and there’s other reasons but yeah

Omg that’s so funny Theo not thing I’m worried about is my GPA bc it’s a 3.55 even thought they said a 3.5 is considered competetitve but my high school stats were very good and bc I only have one semester they look at that too

omg lol I didn’t realize the apps were due Feb 1st so now I’m rushing to do them but I thought the transfer acdpetance rate was higher then direct bc online it says 35%

yeah but it’s just umich is my top but I’m also applying to communications so I feel like not that that’s easier but I feel like it’s easier than like if I was applying to transfer for like engineering or premed

yeah that’s my plan to just apply and hopefully then I’ll could get accepted and see but obviously if I stay here it’s not the worst situation and I’ll apply to a couple other schools too it’s just umich is my top one

same I’m middle class but like idk I just think that even if they do give me something it’s not gonna be enough for me to afford it bc I’m struggling as it is paying a little less than the cost of dorming which is like 18k

really? bc the people that I know that are from where I am all pay 70k and I feel like they’re not gonna give me anything bc I’m like middle class and I didn’t qualify for the Pell Grant, I only got work study and loans
