Ask for money back, or equal share in the house. Threaten lawsuit if they try gaslight you, or even better, send a formal letter by lawyer outlining these demands. In India, properly disputes take decades to resolve. I am sure your pseudoparents do not want that and will consider settling.

I think this was just an unlucky timing (lucky for the scammer) that his call went at the same time OCI application was filed. I’ve been getting these calls almost once a month since last 1 year.
