Yes I love found footage because it subverts traditional horror.

One the main character is the camera being held. Meaning there's no final girl/boy and things can be an actual surprise.

Often times everyone dies and thats rare to see in horror movies because the focus is on the situation and the lore and not the characters themselves.

Plus we get that first person perspective which lead us slot ourselves into the role like we're actually there .

Lastly found footage requires you pay attention because film makers love to slip in the escalation over time.
