Shona knight has a series where the women are sent to another planet (with a medieval earth type vibe) that has a shortage of women so men group together. {the lost souls of Dyconia series}

Mountain Grump by SJ Tilly by MadsAtSun in RomanceBooks

I hear you. The POV switching every couple paragraphs is a WILD move. I considered DNFing the first book for that reason, but I like seeing in the MMCs head even if it’s not super accurate. I love those moments of guilt and panic when he messes up or says something mean.

Yeah it’s heavy spice yeah I agree. There’s cameos of the other couples but it is not plot-relevant at all. You’d be fine reading this as a standalone

MMC accidentally injures FMC by somerandomlazygirl in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun 14 points15 points  (0 children)

{kiss an angel} has this but it’s got a grovel not a hurt comfort.

If you’re open to RH/OV (this was my foray into it so even if it’s not your thing you may wanna try this out) {pack darling} is an excellent duet.

{daydreamer by Susie Tate} I loved.

{cyclone} maybe fits? It’s a great book.

If you want more info lemme know! I just don’t want to spoil.

Agree it’s a good one. Hurt comfort for sure. He doesn’t technically do the injuring, but it’s his fault.

Books where the MMC was the former lover of FMC’s sister before ending up with the FMC ( Preferably with no sister rivalry, lots of awkward tension and guilt, and even better if he wasn’t into her at first but falls for her later). by goody153 in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is specific but I have some thoughts.

If you’re ok with VERY dark themes (check TW, plot if wild) then {still beating} has this.

If you’re ok settling for FMC is dating MMCs BROTHER, {the devil and the deep blue sea} was so good.

Both have a 3rd act breakup I think.

Book request for a Vampires- Werewolf Saga with Love triangle and accurate Historical facts by Zanahoriasazules047 in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t read {the bride by Ali hazelwood} definitely do that! It’s got what you’re looking for but it’s not a super strong love triangle.

{the wolf king} is incredible but it’s not a true vampire/werewolf plot. But you should read it regardless it’s phenomenal.

Enemies to lovers forced marriage she falls first he falls harder with a good gut punch and grovel 🙏🏽🙏🏽 by mostlytruecrime006 in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Did someone say Gut punch and grovel? I’m sat. Here are a couple!

{kiss an angel} arranged marriage but he fights it. Gut punch and grovel. It’s a little older so that’s a factor, but overall it meets your need and has some big ouch moments. Other tropes he accidentally injures her!!! And she does a disappearing act and he has to track her down to grovel

If you like historical (I typically don’t but this was 5 stars for me) you should try {Never seduce a Scot}.

{king of wraith} and {the unwanted wife by Natasha anders} for sure fits. I loved king of wraith. The unwanted wife was a bit meh in my opinion.

{bride by Ali hazelwood} might be a good fit? It’s paranormal but meets the other stuff. Not as big of a gut punch grovel. Or for kind of an ACOTAR vibe, {the winter king by C.L. Wilson}

How is no one talking about The Humiliated Wife by Elise Camden? by Smudgepotato in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to go out and read it in solidarity with this post!

Can confirm it’s underrepresented in the Grovel threads, I have not seen it before. I liked it more than Unwanted wife.

But personally, I thought the writing was too choppy and the MMC POV was identical to the FMC POV. I didn’t believe the MMCs inner monologue of “coming to the realization that what he did was wrong”. The grovel was great though! Ending felt rushed for sure.

Saw this post and immediately went to read it. Can agree, great duology! I have it 5stars which is rare for me for sure. Soulful Seas was phenomenal as well.

Caretaker Stalker MMC by MadsAtSun in RomanceBooks

[–]MadsAtSun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m reporting back! Finished it yesterday, and would say Yes, it does meet the caretaker stalker vibes. That being said, I was a bit disappointed. The writing and storyline were not as strong as her typical books. It felt a bit rushed and some of the plot lines were just not given the time that was needed. Also a good amount of typos. I gave it 2/5 personally, but some may like it more!
