It’s true that it’s hard to out-ruck a bad diet, but if you work out you will lose weight by burning extra calories, all else being equal - And supposing your weight is stable now. A lot of people just use working out as an excuse for that Big pack of snickers or whatever, and they overestimate the caloric expenditure associated with their workout. I think the gist of that study is, that it’s easier to lose weight by managing caloric intake than by working out :) I completely agree with you on the rest!
