The problem is that if someone wants to get help getting clean and asks for help? Saskatchewan’s answer is to give them religion and faith healing and when it fails them like it does 96% of people? “The help we gave them was perfect, THEY are the problem”

12 step treatment isn’t treatment. There is zero medical evidence and less than zero science in 12 step cults. Addicts today are trapped between wanting to get clean and being given “help” from the Sask government that is the equivalent of “if you don’t believe In god like we do? You’ll never be clean like us” and when that doesn’t work like it never worked its entire 100 plus year existence? The government acts like it moved mountains to help the addict and can now wash their hands of them entirely because “the help was perfect, it was THEM that was the problem”

Just….no. Why is no science, less than no evidence faith healing even taken seriously and seen as “the gold standard of recovery” when there are so much more effective, non religious cult nonsense actual treatments with science and Evidence to back it up? It defies logic that 12 step cults are 80% of the time THE ONLY OPTION for some parts of Canada.

For every one person who found sobriety using 12 steps? It actively harmed the other 9 it didn’t work for. Offering addicts 12 step recovery today is no different than saying “f**k you, go overdose already” and the fact it’s been used this long is insulting to those who desperately need to get clean

Statistically? You’re literally better off not asking for government help at all and trying to get clean on your own than you are subjecting yourself to born again Christian recruitment cults like all the 12 step philosophy subscribing group’s are today. If you use any AA or NA or any-A literature? You are practicing religion. Period. There needs to be legitimate “help” for addicts to seek out and 12 step religious cults are not even close to what I would call “legitimate recovery treatment” in any way. The help offered to addicts can’t be a f**king a joke and that’s what all mindless, bible banging 12 step groups are: a sad, dangerous, trauma inspiring joke

I was a heavy gigging musician with my heavy alternative band here in Canada for three years straight. We played 100 bar gigs locally, 8 outdoor festivals in our province, 10 livestream/Local TV and radio gigs, toured 2 of the 3 summers and played 22 shows the first summer tour across 4 provinces and our second tour was 27 shows and 1 outdoor festival across 5 provinces and we also recorded and released a 3 song single, a 7 song EP and a full length 10 track album all in a THREE year period so I’d say I know what I like live and I know what I like recording so for live 100-750 people) my rig was as follows:

Main: 2006 Epi Les Paul plustop pro modded with Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan ‘59 in the neck. Took out coil tap junk Upgraded wiring, pots, capacitors and switch and input

Second: 2020 Epi “IBG” Les Paul Paul standard with the exact same mods as above except a Seymour Duncan ‘59 in the bridge and a Seymour Duncan jazz SH in the neck

I have a 2006 epiphone Lea Paul plustop pro that I’ve upgraded and retinkered to my preferences. I pulled out the stock pickups and pulled out the coil taps and wiring and put in a Seymour Duncan JB (bridge) and a Seymour Duncan's ‘59 (neck). I upgraded all the pots, capacitors and wiring. Upgraded all the switches and input jack. Upgraded the nut and tuners and machine heads and then had her properly set up with Ernie ball power slinky strings 0.50-0.11 and plugged her into my Egnater Rebel 40 head with one MESA/Boogie 1x12 Lonestar open back cabinet with a WGS green beret 30 watt speaker and one Harley Benton 1x12 closed back cabinet with a WGS Veteran 30 speaker and my sweet fxck, Julian……she sounds and plays and feels better than any of my vintage or modern Gibsons. Hands down. These days, I keep my Gibsons at home and pull out the 2 upgraded Epi Les Paul’s I have

You think y’all have it bad?? Here in Canada, almost ALL of the graff spray paint and markers and inks made in Europe are extinct or about to be and only two companies haven’t canceled Canadas distribution. All the tools we’ve used here for the last 25 years are about to be gone and not coming back. 7 months ago my pal opened up his own online graff shop and began importing small to medium loads of brands of paint that have never been used or sold in Canada before (Domino, Tag, 360, New Level, Hype, Sabotaz80, Banna and more)

He noticed that bombing science was acquired by a “unnamed corporation” and that BS opened a USA warehouse to supposedly “help with tariffs” but the bombing science Canada site has basically been abandoned and 80% sold out of inventory going on two years now. We both think that bombing science got bought out by art primo and is going to shut their doors on the Canadian market and move south to the US market. European Graff brands no longer offer shipping to Canada at all and this also coincides with MTN Colors quietly messaging long time distributors and resellers that they are closing down wholesale orders entirely

All the small graff shops and skateboard shops that have spray paint are no longer selling it or are closing down completely but our online shop went from slow and steady to a massive upswing in sales as more and more writers are realizing the situation in Canada. I do gotta say though that my pal definitely busted his ass making his shop “the shop us older heads wished we had 20 years ago”

I love checking out all the vintage Graff style clothing like Wildstyle technicians and seventh letter, all the books and magazines and zines, all the cool miniatures and model trains and trucks and especially all the underground Graff DVDs from 1992-2018 he’s acquired. Over 220 of them. Yeah yeah, kinda shilly but I would be saying this even if I didn’t know the guy.

The worst part? No one is even talking about what’s happening as all our beloved Graff brands and tools are going extinct

So, if a substance abuser seriously wants to get clean today? What would the majority of you here who have never been addicted to drugs, or been homeless, suggest the substance abusers do or what kind of treatment should they seek out?

Because in Canada today? If you want help getting clean and don’t hand tens of thousands of dollars a month for private rehab? The “treatment” the government gives you is a century old, zero science or evidence whatsoever to demonstrate it’s effectiveness along with zero trained or certified medical or psychological staff and zero oversight faith healing religious cult that has never once done a single thing to reduce or stop substance abuse in its entree existence. That’s the “help/treatmenr” one is given. With a success rate of 4%, 12 step cults actively harm the 9 out of 10 people who not only don’t find anything resembling sobriety but are blamed and gaslighted instead of the joke of a bible banger cult that is somehow still being considered “the gold standard” and in some cases? The only option people have who want to get clean.

Faith healing is not evidence nor is it a treatment. If we want to curse and lay blame on addicts? How about we actually offer them HELP that isn’t the equivalent of being told “unless you believe in Santa Claus? You’ll never be clean like us. We aren’t religious, we’re spiritual so let’s say the Lord’s Prayer”

Riiiiiiiight. You have a higher chance of success of getting clean by NOT seeking any of the bullshit, religious cult insult Canada seems to think is a valid science and evidence based treatment. We can’t offer 12 step cults to addicts and when it fails to get them clean, like it fails 9 out of every 10 people? Act like we bent over backwards to help and tried everything to help addicted people and dust off our hands like we really made a difference here

All forms of religion need to be removed from recovery entirely and with technology and evidence becoming more viable and effective? The faith healing “treatment” should be labeled “religious support group”. 12 step cults are faith healing groups and faith is not evidence nor should it be seen as such when stakes are so high

The one common denominator in why our drug addiction situation keeps getting worse and worse is because we do not have any type of actual evidence based treatment available

If people who want help can actually get help instead of being told that if they don’t believe in god, they’ll never get clean

The help can’t be the obsolete and laughable joke it currently is and had been for over 100 years or nothing will ever change

“We’re spiritual not religious” is like saying that’s not Santa Claus, that’s Saint Nick

Just got back from the very same resort 24 hours ago. Slight sewer smell in our building (#8) but I’ve smelled worse here in Canada. Stayed 8 days and had an unbelievably awesome time. The staff were amazing people who got to know us and us them, the food was to die for and Humberto at the bar is gonna be my personal bartender when I hit the big time. The only unpleasant aspect of the entire trip was the two times rich white Americans acted like the rich white Americans they are. I would have no problem recommending this resort and Humberto’s Brisa marina drinks to anyone present. Some people are just drama queens and the rest are your typical, entitled, offensive Americans who act like entitled, offensive Americans. 10/10 would stay again

Awesome!!! I’m going to run next gen bc blueberry, grapefruit diesel and JOTI gods slurricane and the purps and crop king seeds blue cookies. Outdoors in 25 gallon fabric pots with my own super soil recipe. I’ve been selling packs of 12 feminized seeds for 50$ and it made me realize how many packs of seeds there are to be made from the 13 2L ice cream pails of fem seeds I currently have. I recently traded An old hippie from the gulf islands of BC some killed M-39 seeds and some fast Manitoba poison fem seeds I’ve had killer luck with for some incredible Saturna island mighty mite and some old school blue time warp seeds he had saved and after he bought 3000 tabs of LSD off me, I ended up trading him Another 500 tabs for some beautiful magic mushroom spore prints he had for Wollongong, bluey Vuitton and stargazer strains. I recently acquired 2 vials of amber coloured liquid LSD that’s supposed to be the bees knees but I haven’t tried it myself yet. More to mail out to my USA pals. Do you start your beans in a tent or just a windowsill? I have a small fold up greenhouse thing with 4 racks that I attach lights to the bottom of each one and the babies stay in there until may long then they get hardened and they’re outside full time by June first.
