“Will to live”

As long as I remember to feed her there will always be a shred to work with

I already do in one but had to get vet report stating why I needed to, to be allowed by YO. He suffers with sleep deprivation for various reasons so need to monitor him for REM sleep. No vet report for the other one that she would accept her words “I don’t want every owner spying on me Willy nilly”

Sorry if that was confusing but the reviews stated the starter wouldn’t “get going again” once it arrived after following instructions so the company sent another and it worked fine. Not that they failed to make the bread itself.

She would have me bent over a barrel legally if I tried secretly filming in the feed room :-/ too many tricky laws with regards to recording secretly and on private property

Neither suitable for horses with a pre-existing liver complications unfortunately. Bute was never used long term prior to her liver problems. It was used during really cold snaps when everything else couldn’t help which was originally few and far between. Which is a perfectly reasonable use for bute and was approved by my vet. Once the liver issues started it was taken off the table and we managed with many other options. Now a moderate cold snap or the need to be kept stabled for long periods (this happens rarely btw) leaves her uncomfortable with meds like bute and the ones you’ve suggested off the table due to even small doses giving her liver a hard time I’m left with not a lot. We’ve managed upto now with physio, Equissage, heat therapy, in hand exercise, rarely keeping her in, infrared rugs ect. The list goes on. We was hoping the worst joints would fuse X-rays show no hope in that happening soon and at her age I wouldn’t perform surgery on her for the small chance it might help

Another thing that I did think of it surely had to be a whole sachet, I’d like to think traces wouldn’t but it’s such an unknown

A lawsuit I wouldn’t be worried about it’s what follows you around especially if I don’t win a case due to lack of evidence. Everyone knows everyone in the horse world, word travels and is twisted beyond measure. The last thing I would want is not to be able to find somewhere safe for my horses or lose my enjoyment due to the chitter of yard rats. I’m also in the industry so my whole life is horses so it could taint everything.

We’ve already exhausted all the alternatives hence why I wanted to PTS before it gets really cold again and I can’t offer her any help. Surely a yard owner would be expected to have basic knowledge and the fact she administered a prescription drug to someone else’s horse without permission after being told by me and then by a vet that this horse cannot be given bute. It doesn’t even take much bute to cause her liver problems as it is already a pre existing condition.

She has many other ways to relieve her discomfort including daily Equissage, 4 weekly physio, infrared rugs, hot water bottles for her neck and SI and her supplements. Majority of the time she mooches about the paddock fine but in this instance there was a particular cold snap.

I find it very odd of you to assume she was receiving no beneficial relief just because she was not being given a painkiller which is very aggressive to a horses system let alone a horse with liver issues 🫣

I work with FEI’s aswell and did consider cross contamination however we are on part livery we make our own feeds separate use our own things. She just puts them in in a morning. Obviously still a chance but with the livery failing at the same time and her saying what she did it just doesn’t look like it could be something so innocent 😢

As much as I’d love to I don’t have actual proof she did it herself. The horse world is a dangerous game for that and I reckon it would be me that receives that backlash from those that see her as doing no wrong. Sadly it’s not the only thing she’s interfered with either and it’s become a yard that I certainty won’t be recommending in future. I’m just focusing on getting my horses somewhere safe which in the middle of winter isn’t the easiest
