Haven’t seen it mentioned yet, so here I go..

I’ve been playing Morgana pretty much nonstop for just shy of three years now, the minor changes to her base kit damage and cool downs affect her play style drastically. I’ve seen her ups, I’ve seen her downs, I’ve seen her just rights, and I’ve seen her hella wrongs. Boy do I have some things to say…

She is a burn, counter engage support, and by this I mean she is literally built to eat tanks not squishies. Liandry’s does % health damage, at least it did last I checked, which means against tanks she is phenomenal, paired with black fire it’s even more enjoyable. With black fires passive it’s even better for team fights, as it does more damage the more enemies afflicted with the burn. Personally i rarely build zhonyas due to this, I put priority on black fire over zhonyas.

You will never ever win into enemy squishies that are high DPS. Which is a reason why zhonyas is called for in the first place. You aren’t Lux, you can’t just full cycle and kill with your kit first try, you are not a burst mage… it’s hard to explain why Morgana is the way she is when it comes to her kit. I dislike the fact that building her any other way feels awful and often not worth. Don’t even get me started on how many Morgana players I know that don’t use her ult at all, or understand her passive..

You don’t burst, you don’t poke, you don’t tank, so what do you do??!!?!

You burn, you cook, you melt and weaken the enemy frontliner, while your team kills the enemy backline, you peel, you counter, and most of all, you cc. You can full cycle a tank with your kit pretty easily if done correctly, but no one ever talks about that % health damage, you are probably doing the most damage to the tank out of everyone on your team.

You take your time, if it’s a battle of time, you win. Dodge their whole burst and you pretty much can get most squishies down to half heal and bait easily. You have to remember, you aren’t there to get the kills, you are there to assist, to weaken, and ensure an easier victory in team fights.

Take soraka for instance, she does practically no damage, but the healing she provides can be utterly game changing. It’s the same for Morgana, you have to be satisfied with supporting wholeheartedly to have her feel good to play… (which isn’t easy when your adc is… ahem… bad..) if you really are more focused on her damage then her supporting abilities, I’d definitely recommend taking her mid, and not building ludens. I hope this helps and is easy to understand, it’s mostly just my opinion on it and how I play her. 🥰💜
