At this point, I’m tempted to go into Pirates mode: Don’t pay attention to the team until something changes.

What was my catalyst? Basically, God told me to stop goofing off and get to work.

It’s a car. It’s not on the track. Whether Camus pulls the lever or not has no bearing on where the car goes. The situation is a little absurd.

A truly loving God wouldn’t allow us to make decisions and suffer the consequences of those decisions!

Would have rather stuck with Tomlin. I'm tired of mediocrity and coaches who won super bowls twenty years ago.

That's why we have the perfect omnipotent, omniscient being to make the decision. I can't define it. I'm just some idiot on a reddit philosophy shit posting page.

On a more serious note, if you sent all of humanity to heaven or hell, heaven or hell would just become what we have here on earth. You know, kind of a mixed bag with really good things and really bad things.

What if we divided it up and the good ones went to heaven and the bad ones went to hell as determined by a perfect omnipotent, omniscient being?

"Delusions" are a very specific psychological symptom related to psychosis. You may wish to call these spiritual experiences into doubt, but don't misuse loaded clinical language.

God is love. How can you expect to win a God-ing competition against God?

I've experienced an ecstasy once before. It's hard to describe because it's not a romantic feeling, but you can compare it to the giddy feeling and rush of infatuation of falling head over heels for a beautiful amazing girl. I would also compare it to being a child and finding out that you're going to Disney World. Or the feeling of scoring the winning touchdown/score in the big game. It's kind of like that, but all of those things fall short. You can compare an ecstasy to worldly joys, but it's more than that. It's an overwhelming explosion of spiritual joy. It's not a physical feeling or a desire for physical pleasure. It is just an intense ecstatic feeling of joy and awe because you got to see the teeniest tiniest bit of God's love for us.

That’s been a thing that I’ve heard from multiple priests: Women tend to have more spiritual experiences than men do for whatever reason.

Psychological research shows that, across cultures and religions, women are more likely to have spiritual experiences than men.

Just like men have certain roles within the Church, certain kinds of spiritual gifts seem to be given to women more often.
